You guys really suck! You got me watching youtube vids and looking at reviews. And So I am going to download this from PSN tonight. I just know once I start playing this it is going to be a huge time suck for a while. I guess Witcher 3, Uncharted 4 and 3 of the Resident Evil games I bought can wait for a while. Might have to drop a couple of societies on TGC2...
Really hope this is a golf game that is all fun, less stress (compared to TGC2)...

Fun times playing this and leveling up. Arcadey to be sure, but they don't hide that fact.

I downloaded this from PSN last night and played it for a couple of hours. It is a lot of fun. But I can definitely see where they are coming from in the reviews where they say the first few hours of the game kind of drag along. Definitely a nice relaxing game. So far I have played in 3 tournaments (finished 6th in the first and won the next two by a mile) and have played/beat the first challenger. And have taken the first quiz from the professor or whatever he is. But I'm ready to move on to higher difficulty and a different course already. Hopefully soon. I see this one being a hoot to play a couple times a week. Probably when TGC2 is getting me down or playing like ass in the evening because of servers or operator error or whatever.
After playing E.G. I just can't help but think I would have preferred TGC2 to have been a little less crappy about how perfect straight you can swing. I mean easier in that regard. And a little bit more difficult in terms of types of shots. The closer TGC tries to mimic real golf to me the less fun it becomes. Maybe I'm in the minority there. TGC1 swing mechanics were just right in that regard IMHO

I dont have any problem with TGC2 gameplay. I'm disapointed everyone is much better then me but pleased Im playing rounds which feel realistic.
HB let themselves down by the lack of features, some in TGC1, the amount of bugs epecially online and the general speed the game runs at in menus and lag in game. EG excels in all of those areas.

Everbodys Golf - Fun and has a ton of features, great multiplayer, is hard but fair, and the custom sh%$ is easy and entertaining.
TGC2 - Stressful and has no features, multiplayer is in a hoop, is hard but can be completly unfair, and the custom sh%$ is combersome and can crash the game.
if it wasn't for this place and the designer id be gone to be honest.

I know what you're saying but I personally find TGC2 fun to play as in terms of gameplay but lacking everything else. I'm enjoying playing career mode but it took an age to set up and after my long season if finished there is no progression.

In the early going it's very easy to beat your opponents by 6-7 shots. If you hit square before you tee off you play what's called "serious mode" and the scores are a bit more competitive. It's a grind to unlock the few courses there are (5 plus 2 DLC so far) but really enjoying this game much more than TGC2. I won't be back on tour here anytime soon if ever.

Playing devils advocate - comparing the two is a bit "apples and oranges". EG will do loads of things better because it's just loads easier to code and optimise when you only have 7 courses & they are all under the developers control - i.e. they can modify them when they throw up issues. When the courses are not under the developers direct control - the scope of the coding challenge is magnified by many many times. If there was no course designer - TGC2 would be as polished as EG - as this is the biggest development time sink by far. But it would get boring quickly... the varied courses are important for TGCT. Having said that - I'll be picking up EG tonight based on the streams also -Does look like a nice distraction from the TGC2 serious business.

I think for now I'm going to let myself beat up on the AI. Right now I'm most interested in leveling up and unlocking a couple of courses and upgrading my equipment enough that I feel I can play online. To me this game is not really a replacement for TGC2 but more of a welcome distraction from the stress that that game provides sometimes. Because E.G only has seven courses I do not see this is a very long term go to kind of game. Probably will play it on and off for two or three or four months and then stop playing it until next year's version comes out. TGC is more like a staple or a given So to speak. Even if I should get bored with competing on the tours I will probably stay with some of my society events both on PC and PS4.
