I made it out to Blackwater Fen tonight. What a test of golf! I had an average 8-10mph wind, so those were tough fairways to hit. I'm not sure how your superintendent finds guys to mow those!
Lots of good things to say! A very beautiful course. The water and marsh areas were incredibly realistic and really added to the feel. The biggest compliment I can give is that your edging is impeccable. I never saw a band of light rough so consistent the whole way through a hole, let alone an entire course. I don't know how you do that.
Great job, I look forward to other WC layouts.

I played WCLB just now, and shot my worst score of all time. The views are gorgeous, and the length with wind added in was hard to handle. But it was the greens that killed me. You won't make many friends with those. 😉
I played 10 the way it was for fun, and was actually able to eventually get it in the hole. Haha

Very dramatic looking course. Reminded me a bit of The Rookery. Definitely plays like a Euro/PGA level course, which I know is what you were going for.
The 527-yard hole should be a par 5 IMO regardless of it being fast/firm and downhill. I played in L-R cross and ended up missing the left side of the fairway, which felt like only way to reach green in 2. Was forced into a long layup short of the ravine and made 5. Give me an option to run it further up the fairway for a recovery 2nd and I'm OK with it being a 4, but between tight fairway, forced layup and uber-sloped green, it felt like triple punishment. Make it a 5, and I at least feel like I have a chance to recover. Really don't think you are going to have many 3s on that hole and, really I think you are gaining at least 1/2 stroke on the field if you make 4 there, because of the long approach and severity of the green. Solely my $.02 worth there and take it as you will.
That was my only real gripe. Sculpting and lighting are awesome and aside from that hole, found it pretty playable. There are people who are going to do a double take over 9 holes coming in at 3900+, but it played significantly shorter than that. Overall, think the course fits what you are trying to do.
Tough task to design difficult without crossing the line of being overly tricked up. Keep on flirting with the line w/o crossing it on the back and you prolly have a strong pro-level course on your hands.

Might extend the fairway a bit I'm going for tough but I knew even that was pushing it but it's playable I got in trouble off the tee on that one ended up in heavy rough when I just played but made a 4 I'm going to extend the fairway down the left side. Thanks for the feedback so far guys I shot -3 thru 9 holes so I'm ok with that.
