Loved the course Hoot...with great views and hole layouts in most cases. Few were iffy but it was a great track. I will admit I ended up quitting the round I wa splaying due to hurricane warnings coming off the coasts si I will have to go back and try this again with the winds die off a tad. The 16 to 20mph were hellish to play through.

I really liked 17 of the 18 holes on this course. I hated No. 12. I guess that's supposed to be the ruins hole, but it was a complete miss for me. It felt way out of place. I didn't realize it was supposed to be something, and then I knocked my drive right into them (lol).
Still, this was one of the most enjoyable courses I've played in this contest. I liked the look of the course, and was surprised at how good the course looked when I was facing away from the sun.

I liked the look of the course, and was surprised at how good the course looked when I was facing away from the sun. Played through this yesterday on the Invicta Tour, so I figured I would chime in. I mostly agree with Patrick, though I don't know if I'd go so far as "hating" 12. It didn't really end up mattering too much because I birdied the hole (I think?), but it felt a tad felt forced. As much as I may not like it, I'm not going to get too put-off by having to hit a 3-wood off the tee on a par 5, but I would've liked a more reasonable "risk" option if I chose driver. That said, those ruins did look very cool, certainly some impressive work done there. Regardless, I still really enjoyed the course in general. Beyond the playability, I found myself zooming way out on the scout cam to look at the way you sculpted the land and built in the environment, and thinking " damn, that's cool." Somewhere mid-round, on one of the holes that sits down a bit, the HUD scrolled back to the course name and I instinctively looked up to read "The Low Course..." and everything kind of clicked. I think you did a superb job of creating an immersive environment that fit the course down to the name. Awesome stuff Hootbleet , a well deserved trip to the knockout round.

Resurrecting this thread, as this is one of those courses that will be considered one of the "greats" in TGC in my humble opinion as time goes by. The environment created here by Hoot is what really makes this course shine. The "world" of this course is just gorgeous, and then he builds this fantastic course in that world that is just a pure pleasure and challenge to play, on so many levels. So as you're walking around this great course focusing on all the decisions that need to be made on every hole, you're also absorbing all of the surrounding world's beauty at the same time. What a wonderful experience!
Fantastic work from a seriously talented designer.

Thanks for the comments guys. I have to say the feedback from the community has been beyond anything I could imagine, whem I set out to build this course. To think, I started this course over a year ago and then didn't touch it for about 10 months. If it hadn't been for the Invicta competition then it may never have been finished, thanks @griff for the motivation

Wondered why this got bumped back up again! I've played this a few times now in various competitions and it seems to get better every time. It's a great challenge if the wind gets up a bit, I never fully appreciated the Links aspect the first few times I played it. For me it's the modern day Tye Dunes, and just as much of a masterpiece. So, when is it appearing on tour?.....

All through this course you get tantalising distant glimpses of knicker-elastic as she moves and gyrates along the front nine, then the glorious in-your-face reveal on the 12th as the final veil drops.
Is there anything more pornographic in this game than this flyover?
When the camera turns the corner and the village steeple swings into view . . . just breathtaking. Awesome work.

And one last thought: You know the gap in the ruins? The hole? Can you get a golf ball through it cleanly? Well . . . . . Yes. Yes you can!
