Glad you're all enjoying the course, can't please them all it seems, lucky I've got thick skin and a great sense of humour to get the most out of this thread. The course was fully rangered by myself and others and received quite well, I've dug it out for you all to peruse on the European Tour page, sorry some of you feel so passionately about pin hunting.....wow! #someoneneedsakleenex

Belfry great course ruined by pins , players great course ruined by pins this week seems more of the same. You've more than thick skin my friend if these had been put out with my name on it I would be ashamed. They're that bad Sweeney has been crossing over to avoid them ffs. But I'll stop complaining now and play them this week and off to PGA with me

I left the PGA this week because I wanted an easier field. I was wrong. Round three was horrible. Many boggies. I was only to understand that I should play to chip in the fourth round. The pins here are terrible. Top 10 more dificult. 1.-11 2.-12 3. -8 4.-12
Total - 43

I'm going to be guessing many people are going to be playing for chips on this one.... I know I was after practicing 2 holes.

It's not about pin seeking; it's about chipping in being the best option and about punishment for shots which miss their target by inches. It turns out to be as much luck as it does judgement.

It turns out to be as much luck as it does judgement. Thats the whole point mate. Make ppl who wudn normally be competitive feel like they are even if its jus for 1 week. While I understand the intent behind it, I think it fundamentally fails cz its gonna piss alot more ppl off than it keeps happy.

Got the first two in, pins taken closer to the limit of what was expected when the rules changed but somehow righted most of the things that had been going wrong with my game last couple weeks. Hopefully -7, -9 means I don't miss the cut this week. Round 2 was going great until 16 when I shanked my tee shot straight into a bunker, but I got lucky on the next hole when my tee shot hit the pin and settled 5 feet instead of rolling into the next county like on most holes.

All the Bleddy time I can't play all the setups and I don't place the pins but like I said I'm fine with what I seen, sure more than a few were OTT but this is the euro where we can all dial in our shots And I greatly beg to differ, CSU is very golf minded and I guarantee you chip ins will be LOW!!! WHY YOU ASK? Because the pins are cut short and not long or off to the side, if you're playing for chips here you'll be left greatly frustrated, play for the green if you can't play for the pins is the only tip you need. PS. Sorry Ian #notsorry

Set up didn't suit me.
68, 64 (-8)
That'll be a missed cut I imagine. Never mind.

Don't worry folks, services have returned to normal in round 3. -4, including a 4ft putt that went straight over the hole and proceeded to roll down the hill for another 30 feet. Hopefully, I can lift my game for the final round. Came unstuck even more in the 4th, -1. Including one where I had the fringe in front of me, and the slope was going away from the hole. I deliberated quite a bit and decided to just putt, hard. Of course, I got the fringe, chipped, then putted for a bogey. Better to be safe, than sorry. Anyhow, I still can't believe my first two rounds. I think I may need to be drug tested.

I got so curious of rd4 that I finished all 4 even if I won't make the cut.
I think the pins in rd1 was horrible. So much I stopped caring and probably lost a few strokes because of it. This continued throughout all 4 rounds.
I did however find rd2 and 3 to be much better. I can see how these got the green light. Except maybe 15 or if it was 16 in rd3 that had yellow in all boxes in the 9 box area. In hindsight I think I even enjoyed them. 4th was tough, but in my opinion not nearly as bad as the first. A few silly ones for sure, but not horrible. It did become a bit of a chore to play though with all the issues through 4 rounds.
Obviously people can still score on it. I just have to give a shout out to @vixenvicky . I usually compare scores with you and your 4th round -9 was simply awesome. I know it's not the best score put on the board, but I was impressed. My +1 was rather disappointing in comparison.
Now I'd like to just say something to everyone who is complaining wildly this week.
I'm not saying you are wrong but, This course was Rangered back in April. It's a long time ago in virtual golf standards and we didn't have as many Rangers back then as we do right now. What's also important to know is that Rangers didn't have very clear guidelines either. All schedulers did their own thing and asked for different things when putting up their courses. One Ranger could essentially say that it was tough for me as I'm a CC player, but a euro player can probably handle it and that was it. Had this been Rangered today a Ranger could still say the same thing, but they would also note any pins with even a fraction of yellow AND note any pins too close to the edge. This would probably have opened rods eyes more widely if it was presented to him. Bottom line is that neither Rod or any Ranger is to blame in my book on this one.
A side note as well. When this course was Rangered the burnout and fatigue level of the community was not nearly as high as it is today AND tbh the overall skill level on Euro was much higher. I've made most cuts this year and I wouldn't have made many back in April. I have not improved that much.
Take it for what it's worth.

How can you schedule without knowing what you are scheduling?? You say you played only one rd and put it on tour. I just think a little more work needs to go into this. Moe was great at the web level. I cant remember ever seeing anything close to illegal on more then one hole an entire tourney.

Let it go, you guys are the vocal minority week in week out I can assure you. I don't need to answer you but I'm polite so I will I played the original, thought it was a great design and would suit a nice Rural Euro event, I played 1 version on the 4 correct, I let the rangers have at it.... And in hindsight I should have maybe re-Rangered it seeing as it was a fair while back to suit all the sooks that have started seeping from the very sound foundation here TGCT! I've been here since day one and I tell ya what, I'm almost done! I can't comment on Moe's course selection but all I know is you can't please them all, I stick by my selections and this course is a beaut, how can it be suggested to host a Web/CC tour event yet you guys are carrying on like my misses up here on Web, throw your hat is the rank and become a Ranger and make an impact or rack off!
