So, while doing the commentaries for the Summer Showdown design contest, Doyley planted an idea in my head. I'm putting out feelers to see if this is something that can take shape and be worth the time and effort.
The idea is to have a stream 3 or 4 nights a week (maybe more depending on availability) that is dedicated to playing through new courses for critiques and constructive feedback. It would be along the lines of what Canuck was doing with some of his streams in the past. We may even have nights where we do "design 101" and demonstrate different tricks or methods we use, etc. The most fun we had was interacting with the peanut gallery and making the experience "light". The idea would be to have plenty of Q & A and commentary/suggestions from viewers as well. It's about having fun and community interaction...not looking for drama of any kind or blasting of any courses.
Anyways, if this is to take flight I would be looking for a couple of co-hosts (or 3 or whatever so nights can be alternated). I'm willing to skin my Twitch out and link it to a youtube channel, but only if people think it would be worthwhile. If you guys think it's a waste of time, please say so. If you are open watching here and there or being a part of it, then say that too.
Thoughts?

Fantastic idea. Without a doubt you should go ahead with this. Especially if you can get tastegw to co-host one night!

See if you can get Jerry but not wagtunes. And you might as well invite detfan as well so he can tell you Little Brook Manor is a PGA level course. Sounds like a great idea for the designers or wannabe designers out there, of which I'm not. And since I never watch or listen to any content people here produce you don't have to feel bad about me not planning to watch this. Perhaps an episode or segment in each episode where you go over some of the basics to help beginners get over the early hurdles of learning how to use the various tools available effectively would start to get me interested. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't toyed with the thought of creating a course with the dream of it someday being on a tour of some sort. However, the task of learning all the tools, figuring out the kind of features that are looked for or frowned upon in course design, spending likely dozens of hours working on it, being proud of what I made then publishing it and being told some of it was not bad but overall it wasn't good enough try again proved too daunting for me.

Love the idea! You did a great job on your streams. My problem though is since you call it after dark, the hours would probably not work for me personally, but I would definetly watch!

Detfan needs to volunteer to take over as CC scheduler. We'll for sure have some nights where we do Design 101.

I would archive all episodes on a youtube channel. For our Euro friends we may have some Saturday or Sunday episodes earlier in the day...maybe some during the week along the way. Really just depends on how much interest is there.

Excited to see what this results in. Hopefully you'll get some strong co hosts.... I'm sure you will. Likewise with Mrooola it may be too late for me, or at least it should be as I'm UK based, but I'm up all sorts of crazy hours so I'm sure I'll pop into chat every so often

Yeah I miss those course critiques. Crazycanuck1985 did a fantastic job on that. Also upcomming designers will learn a lott of it and its very helpfull. Hope their will be a rookie design contest soon, for players who never published a course. Im working on a course btw and its realy beautifull. Posted some pictures on Golfclub PS4 FB also, but I lost interest, cause there is no rookie contest atm.

LOVE the idea! Not sure how many I'd catch live b/c my Internet and Twitch don't get along w/o a lot of buffering, but would for sure be something I'd catch later on YouTube.
