For all you new guys on the racing circuit, I posted this earlier - you might find it useful: Setup Guide. Cheers!

Have been racing in the torro rosso for a week now and i'm enjoying myself. Game looks realy nice and the cars are easy to handle with all assists on. I've started a career on hard and am playing short weekends. (25% race and one shot Q) 5 races done and i'm the leader with 100 points. Hamilton is 2nd with 96. The first race ended in the rain and i changed tires one lap too late. Next 3 races were won with 2 poles. Barcelona I did not have the pace. Change of setup might be needed on that track (more downforce i think) Ended 5th. Next stop: Monaco.

Make sure you take an 18-wheeler or two with you - loaded to the top with extra front wings for Monaco! :-) I do all my racing at 50% races. To me, the pit strategy plays such an important role that I can't imagine playing less than 50%, as it would eliminate at least one set of pit stops. Good to hear you're enjoying it -- don't think I've ever heard anyone say anything less than "I really enjoy it." Yes, one or two AI quirks, but overall it's a very decent game with lots of entertainment value.

Had my first uneventful race of the season in the USA, on pole and never out of the lead(Apart form early pitstop) in a rain hit Texas. I'm now just behind Rosberg in the chamionship, Hamilton way out in the lead but that 2nd place is possible. I've just ordered a wheel, the first one I've ever had. Hopefully it won't change the difficulty too much, I should just be able to take off some assists. Looking forward to it!

Been struggling a bit in the last weeks with the game. Had a bit less time available and substracted it from F1. And the difficulties to find a good balanced setup for Belgium track have me a bit stopped

I'm sooooooooooo jealous! I'm sure you'll have a great time with the wheel - can only imagine how much better it makes the experience! Just finished up my first season with Renault - finished 2nd in the Championship, behind Rosberg. Nico clinched it at Interlagos after I got too greedy and tried to stretch a stint five extra laps to the checkered flag on inters after the track had dried up considerably. Tires wore down as if someone had them on a spindle and was using a sharpened chisel on them. Had to make an extra pit stop after back markers like Ericsson passed me. Finished 6th in Brazil after qualifying on pole, and leading most of the race. Stupid move cost me big time, but lesson learned - once it's no longer drizzling, get off inters pretty quick! Re-signed with Renault, as nobody else was offering a 1st driver position. Was pretty surprised at that, but will use my rookie year's experience in season two to win it all. Gotta manage to do better than 20th place in Monaco to do that though!

I'm a bit concerned how to rig it all up but we will see. I'll let you know how I get on at Christmas. Sounds like you had a good season! I'm not sure if I should stay at McLaren next season or move on.

I'm not sure if I should stay at McLaren next season or move on. Only thing I can say about changing teams is that Crazy Canuck moved from McLaren to Red Bull, and it was a disaster! Ended up getting fired from RB, but to be fair the car had all the aero and suspension package of a Brinks armored car. So, not sure if moving will work out - if you do decide to move on, but I can safely say it doesn't always work out for the best!

When talking about wheels, would anyone recommend one for PS4?
I still might have one more wish for X-Mas...

Having watched too many of his races on Youtube, Crazy compounded his problems by moving to Master difficulty around the same time (and who knows what those mods did to his game). So I'd suggest not upping the difficulty and changing teams at the same time.

When talking about wheels, would anyone recommend one for PS4? I still might have one more wish for X-Mas... I've not got mine so can't say for definate but it does depend on your budget. I've gone for the Thrust master T150. It's £130 on Amazon and is pretty much the cheapest force feedback wheel you can get. Reviews say it does a good job and is very good value for money. If you can afford a bit more there's a few more options.

I might have one more season at McLaren then and then maybe move on. Ken did raise a good point above - Canuck did switch teams in combination with raising AI difficulty and adding some funky-assed mod that I believe he later ditched, so it's pretty much impossible to nail down what effect changing teams (alone) has -- if any.
