One week ago "we should be able to say what we want! So what if someone might not like it. Don't like it, don't read it!" Now "hey be careful about that one guy's feelings" Using words people use everyday versus saying you're glad to see the back of someone with mental health issues yep there defo the same. Glad Irving at least explained himself better but the sad truth is some people will be ignorant to what Dan is going true and see him going dark as a good thing. Personally I hope he gets help and comes back when he is ready . And somewhere in my mind I will be concerned for his welfare as I've been there and know how tough it can get. Anyway need sleep and affraid of over stepping the mark. Good night men and best of luck Dan.

I have missed out on a lot of the carry on here recently as I was banned and then had to move home so have been offline and still haven't settled properly. I have poked a bit of fun at Chaoz when he was on here but when I found out he had problems I stopped as its hard to tell when people are joking sometimes. I have to say I felt sorry for him when I read his post basically pouring his heart out offering an apology only to be mocked in numerous other threads same way he was mocked and talked about while serving a ban which was unfair as he couldn't reply. As I said I missed most of the ins and outs of what went on and some threads have been deleted on here so it's hard to catch up. Either way Dan was a top class player even with his rage problems and most people on here couldn't live with his scores. I for one will miss him as he was an active poster on here and it's always bad for a community when posters leave. I actually hope he can be given his account back as I agree with what TROWELHEAD said that he most likely regrets quitting anyway and would probably come back given the chance.

He still able to post on the forums mate they haven't locked that, he just cant submit his scores for tournaments because he asked to be banned, but after seeing his last to tournaments I think its the best thing for him theres no way he was enjoying playing anymore and just seemed to be playing because he felt he had to.
I personally hope he gets the help he needs because he aint a bad dude and was one of the most welcoming members on here when I first joined the forums, it was only the last month or so where he seemed to change and wasn't enjoying himself anymore.

After chatting with him many times I believe his issue is that he never won a tourney. He would play hard until there came a point that he felt that he couldn't win, which is what happened with the last tourney. In round four he missed an eagle putt, then the birdie and I think the par...after that he gave up. He would post his scores early and be every so happy, until someone passed them and then his tone would change. He put a lot of pressure on himself to win and I think he got tired and frustrated with his second places and never being able to crack that top.

Look folks, here's the situation. If you are truly concerned about him, you need to keep contacting him off the forums and you need to push him into getting professional help in real life for his issues. Comforting him online, playing his online "games" (however you define it) and allowing these threads to fester does not thing to help him and in many ways continues his destructive, self-injurying behavior.

It's not a permanent removal - but it will be a good chunk of time to give you a chance to regroup.

Actually thinking about it more, I'm thinking a break for Dan is good.
I remember a year or so ago, I would play Dan. More times than not, I would beat him. He was easy going and for the most part our matches were fun. At some point then we would start playing and the moment he made a bogey, he would rage quit. I understand rage quits, done it in practice myself a few times, but after about the third or fourth time of this happening when playing against me, I told him that I wasn't going to play him anymore if he quit.
Fast forward a month and we are playing again. He didn't quit when he made that bogey, instead he just stopped playing seriously. In my view it was worse because it was a waste of my time when he is not even taking time to aim a putt or an approach shot. Once again I told him I would not play him until he learned a bit more control and had less anger issues.
Well somewhere in the next couple of months, Dan got better and better. We played a few more times and many times he kicked my butt. It was nice to see him play better and it really helped me to focus by playing what was now a better player. Unfortunately it was Dan who decided to stop playing our matches. He claimed many things from: "I'm only playing on Weekends now because I think too much practice is stopping me from doing well in tournies", to "I am only playing the first five holes, too much practice is bad!" and "I'm stopping practice all together and only doing 3 holes right before I play."
He tried many things and when they would work and he would get a top 5, he stuck with whatever weird set of circumstances he chose for himself that week to play. Of course he would end up having a bad week and he would completely change to some new unusual 'rules' for himself to play by. I got to play a round with him again after that, but it wasn't a lot of fun. He told me he couldn't enjoy practicing, it had to be tournament or nothing. When he played with me he was doing massive speed golf, playing by 'feel' and taking less than 3 seconds to set up a shot and shoot. We had one match for the PC match play event which he won and after that we never played again.
For Dan it wasn't about the 'fun' of just playing. It was about winning a tournament or nothing. The moment he made a bogey or missed an easy birdie putt, he had it in his head he was 'done' with the tournament because the big boys (like Ian) don't miss things like that. It got to a point that he would page me early in the morning while I was working or asleep with many posts to the chat to tell me what was good/bad about a practice round (mostly bad) and I got to the point of not even reading them. I had told him many times I thought he needed a break from the game and my opinion of what he should do in real life, but he pretty much ignored me.
It is a shame because we did have lots of fun matches and that is where I think Dan needs to reflect. WHY does he want to play the game? WHY? If you are going to quit after your first bogey in practice, why practice at all? When you make a bogey in tournament play you then have no practice on how to overcome it. In the end, the best advice I can give him now is to try and find a way to make the game fun for you again without the tournaments and competition. If he can't do that, then it is pretty much pointless to play TGC because odds are, he is not going to win a tournament and will be 'crushed' again.
Good luck.

I find it appalling that certain members will jump into Dan's stream just for their own fun and crack jokes. I find it sad and insensitive, but as I quote "I am on my period"
