It's supposed to be the Americans who don't understand satire! I think it's irony that Americans traditionally struggle with and the difference between irony and sarcasm. Although Irving is a master at both so clearly not all Americans. Perhaps he's British really and he's pretending to be American for maximum irony (I can explain why to any Americans currently confused )?

I have thought of the following puns: 1. Brexit is the most important meal of the day. 2. "It was ay'ways EU and me" - Young Boab Coyle 3. "EU had the powers" - God 4. I can't see me loving nobody but EU.
Hats off to anyone who gets the reference in 2&3.
