Well, after making it into the Open, I was back to reality last night. The winds dominated me the first round. I could not get anything going.
-1 -9 -7 -5
Total -22.. I had a few too many bogeys in rd 3 and 4. Onwards.

With 42 players reporting scores for R1 so far, the median score is -4. With 115 players in the field and 10-15 late registrants, the cut will be somewhere in the -8 range, most likely. Most of the few who posted R2 scores here scored lower in R2, so I'll guess the cut will be -9. It could slip to -8 if fewer lurkers utilize late registration. Good luck to all Webbers. This is a fantastic test. Sounds about right Patrick. If you can shoot 10 under for the two rounds you should be in safely. Right now, in practice (and I was fortunate enough to create a tour with similar conditions) I'm averaging between 8 and 11 under for the two rounds. So if I just keep my cool (easier said than done) I should be okay. It's going to be a real nail biter, that's for sure. I dont want to come out as an jerk but you have too much time on your hands I suggest getting an hobby

...moving on Great seeing the shot replays. I love those. Someone said you tend to see more of those shots going in off the backstop around my courses. It is definitely on purpose, I love playing them and so it seems do others. So I often put them in and practice until I can nest the ball back down next to the hole whilst working in the designer. Make for a fun round IMO and when playing firm and fast your moral needs to see a way to stop that damn ball IMO. Good luck folks, especially those on exemption. I failed miserably on my one and only exemption from web to Euro last year. Result was waiting until the tour finals and cursing the course I used it on. Sorry if that is mine for you this week Hoping I might get my first two rounds in tonight round here to join in the fun... I wont ask you guys to wish me luck... I'd be hoping for misery too

I was looking good after 24 holes.
-8 in round 1 and 6 straight birdies to start round 2... Finished round 2 -4.
Should make the cut but I am deflated.

Opening round of -1 but enjoyed it. I started with a birdie on round 2 and hopes were high but even after 3 and I feel miles away from the cut now.

Having given myself the challenge of playing this event around my own course, I am pleased to post -12 at the half way point (unofficially of course). -2 first round after a strong finish spared my blushes (was +1 going down 15 I think). I enjoyed the challenge the wind offered, made both rounds play very different. I'm not the best wind player so even though I play on Euro, I am happy getting a score that would make the cut with a few to spare hopefully . Putted awfully, doesn't matter if you know the greens, putt bad and you'll miss -10 round 1 is insane btw... Great scoring

A little stream of consciousness. Maybe you'll see some of what we all go through. Hopefully a good read...
In my head:
Ok, let's do this.
Round 2. Read the forum, folks saying -10 is probable cut. Could be, could be, sitting at -6 after round one and stopped on hole one round two with a birdie, at -7 now. Need -3 to -5 to be safe. Should be do-able right? Right.
Crap, that short par 3 pin on 2 is still right in front on the tip of the hill. Play safe and get on, long is ok. Or, loft up and try to go maybe a yard or two short, backstop hill may bring the bounce back to the pin. Go for it.
Damn it, short of green by 2 yards and slow roll way down the hill. No!Now your in trouble idiot.
Three bad shots and two putts later it's done. Can't believe it, is that a 6 on the scorecard. Dejection, absolute dejection. -10 sticking in my head. You blew it Allen, you idiot. Why not the safe shot?
Ok, ok, focus. Random thought creeps in of the guys on the forum saying round two is much harder than one... focus. Par 5 coming up on #4, get a birdie, only be +1 then. Have to get back to under par on the front to have any chance at the cut.
Playing on and bearing down... Birdie 4,5,7. Get to one under at nine. Feeling strong again, confidence coming back. Birdie 10, birdie 13. Card a tough bogey on 14. Where am I at? Minus 8, thought I was lower than that. Need to get under that -10.
What happened in the next 10 minutes was euphoric.
Pitch in eagle on the par 5 15th after at least three minutes of debating how much it was going to suck back with a lob versus a lofted pitch. Will never know because it went in. Par on 16 had me sitting at the (supposedly) magic -10 number in total with that reachable par 4 17th and the par 5 18th ahead. Great design!
Back inside my head... Ok, now it's crunch time. Play safe on 17 and hope everyone is right on the -10 number? Thoughts of the hole #2 triple bogey sneaking back in. Get out of my head #2!! Focus. The guy I ghosted is going for it. He must of hit driver because he is over the back. Three wood is the shot and steer it just left of the rough on the right side and it might just stop on the green. Focus. You got this. Birdie, birdie is -12. Makes the cut for sure.
Three wood lands short and rolls out, missing the rough, it's on the green barely, but keeps rolling! Maybe 20 feet from the pin. Drain the putt for eagle 2. Now I'm yelling out loud! Are you kidding me! Four under in three holes! Adrenaline is pumping.
Birdie 18 to go 5 under in the last four holes and card a -7.
Love this course.
Love this game
Wow.

So, have you seen the projected cut line? Hope it sticks. Might actually have a decent chance to get my Web card if I can keep it together.
Still waiting to the last minute to play my rounds.
I don't think I've been this excited since my wedding night 31 years ago.
Man, I really DO have to get a life. LOL.
