The fact that there's no effect for up or downhill lies speaks volumes to the physics in TGC, or lack there of......so I just view it as being a video game that does a superior job compared to the competition.
When I can hit lofted PW and it stops on a red slope that's 45 degrees I just shake my head, take a sip of my beverage and prepare for the downhill putt from hell.

I wish someone would set the courses up on the softest settings but fast putting greens. Yeah we would all be dropping the ball in close to the flag instead of dropping it on the front of the green and relying on a good bounce. You could then put the flag tight in behind a bunker and still give the player a realistic chance of getting close. We played Loch Lorne golf club a couple of weeks back on TST and the greens were soft, most of us scored pretty well myself in particular, I didn't get that close to the top of the leaderboard but I felt I had a good tournament. You would probably have more people in the mix at the top of the leaderboard rather than the top dogs who seam to have figured out pretty well where to land the ball on the max firm settings running away with the tournament. Edit. I've just missed the cut at -1 I'm actually working on a course at the moment with those type settings, soft(ish) firmness but medium to fast speed on at least 2 of the pin locations. Possibly the Friday and Saturday pins but not decided yet. Also the greens won't be as large as some of the ones we see, so definitely some target golf will be required. It's my first design so most likely wouldn't make the grade for any of the tournaments. Still have a good bit of work to do on it though.

I have got to agree with this here, it really shouldn't be that hard to factor in ball lie to force a lower or higher trajectory playing from an up or downhill position. Same with the concrete fringe, I have seen balls hit sprinkler heads IRL and not jump as much as in this game. The red and yellow slope thing really drives me mad though and the ridiculous backspin from pitch shots. I will often play for a slope to let it feed back to the hole and you end up getting left with that putt from hell as a reward, meanwhile your playing partners chip in from the rough

Nearly killed the coach though haha. Some laugh at that one had to play my second from the flower bed right of the 7th tee box .

Ha ha Moe that is some shot to have to play in front of people you nearly killed, surely you got a drop from the flowerbed! nantez88 told me that Sutton hit a divot when trying to tee off that curled over the ball and left it still on the tee. I wouldn't have been able to play on after witnessing that to be honest

Me and O'Doyle where in bits from laughing at it. It's something that you couldn't do in a million years if you tried your hardest, funniest golf moment of all time. Not sure if Moe Slorkman was there think he was though but my lord it was funny haha

No nantez88 I missed that one but was there in glen mill when he hit a sod from under the ball and the ball landed in his divot. I was offered the drop feng187 but was sitting tee'd up on some bark so I ripped a 5 wood got up and down for a bogey aswell haha.
