Ok lads, with a few days left to the Euros.. I'm going to organise a predictions league.. Let's see how many we get involved..Closing day for entering is Friday afternoon.... I'll be setting up a new thread, if your interested let me know in this thread... 1 point for a correctly predicted home win, 2 pts away win, 3 points draw.. As I've said before designated home n away teams as you'll all probably know for major comp.. Guess I'm confused about this scoring, you get 3 points if you predict a draw but if you predict Ireland to beat Italy you'll only get 2? I haven't done one of these since France 98 and the way we did that was try to predict the score. If you got it right you got 3 points, if you guessed the outcome but not the correct score you got 1 point, for instance predicted 1-1 but the score was 2-2 then you'd get a point. Not sure if that would make it more interesting over picking the "Home" team in every match? As I said opinions are healthy and I actually like your idea better.. I use to play that format myself years ago in previous major comps & if your familiar with sky's super 6 its a similar scoring system to what you've suggested. The home win 1 point, draw 3 points n away win 2 points is how my local pub run there coupon competition and it's a big success & interesting over a season, that being said I like your idea & would be willing to go with that way instead. What do others think!?

Something else we need to discuss lads is..... Should we go with people having to inbox me there scores or just every 1 talk about it openly in the thread when I set it up.. I think inboxing me your scores is a good idea because then once the deadline has passed for the opening set of fixtures to be predicted, everyone could then chat away about what they've predicted to me.. And the same etc for the rest of the comp.. I.e I put up 2nd set of fixtures in each group a day or two before the 1st set ends n then once the deadline to have predicted scores has passed everyone can then discuss what they've predicted.. Otherwise its just a free for all guessing scores in a forums n if someone is leading the table with a few games to go tactically they could use it to there advantage knowing wat others have predicted before they predict themselves.. just my view..

I also like the PM option. Otherwise, there is this as a possibility: www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/predictorNote: not sure it is accessible outside UK and haven't looked into it properly. Also, didn't look back over all the posts, but was there a mention of more points for away teams winning? IMO it is only France who are not a home team? Definitely prefer 3 points correct score, 1 point correct result. Maybe picked up on that idea wrongly though, in which case carry on

Hey I made a good suggestion. First time in 900 posts if it was 3 points for a draw then I'd probably pick draw for every match knowing how defensive some teams would play. At least it would make it easier for Tony instead of figuring out if Iceland are better than Austria? Looking forward to it, waking up and having a match to watch at breakfast and lunchtime, will just miss the late games every day.....and England Vs Russia as I have a damn wedding to go to that starts an hour after kick off

So if Tony is leading by 1 point and his final 4 selections are identical to whose in 2nd we know something fishy is going on?

I.e needs to happen to see who gets to wear home/away kits... & for coupons too I'd say.. I like the bbcsport idea but does that work for those outside UK/Ireland!? @chrashbird could u verify this!?

Its a bit of a laugh at the end of the day.. Should b fun..we need to designate a points system.. BBC sport r giving 10 points per correct predicted me likey... How about 5 pts for a correct outcome!? 10 for a correct scoreline predicted..
