Eeesh, what the hell just happened? Played probably my worst ever round on tour and posted a horrific -3 in round one. Cannot put my finger on what was going wrong, just no approach left me a reasonable putt and subsequently two putted nearly every hole. Was about to throw in the towel but thought what the hell and hit the first tee for round 2 without a care in the world. Couldn't put a foot wrong posting possibly my best ever round on the tour finishing -16 (-19 after 2). Go figure, may even make the cut and save some rankings...

Well lads I went into this one with my eyes hanging out of my head from tiredness from my recently arrived son. I stunk up the joint in round 1, I mean I was all over the place haha missing putts left, right and centre I finished -6 for round 1 I just said Feck it in round 2 and suddenly remembered how to play and shot -13. Only thing that bothered me was the 11th hole my ball hit a tree which was unexpected but I recovered well and made par.
The way I was feeling I would have bit someones arm off if they offered me -19 after 2 so I'll take it and hope to make the cut, then come back at it for 3 and 4 and try play to my potential. Best of luck everyone :-)

Best of luck everyone :-) Congratulations on the lad and the sleepless hours Fine to come back with -13 in round two. That 11th hole I think everyone hit the tree haha. Round one I did not hit the tree but made a mess of things and got a bogey so really not good friends with it. My rounds so far: 60 60 -20 midway and I am hoping my streak of missing cut by 1 stroke can end with that. Two mistakes in round two I would like to have eliminated - 14th I gave a 7 ft a bit too little and it fell just to right edge - on 15th I had a similar 7 foot and gave it enogh so it jumped the hole to sit on edge behind. Aside from these two silly mistakes (and that 11th that I don't master yet) it was as good as my current level can produce. Best of luck to everyone.

Thanks mate and well done.Looks like we won't have to worry about the cut this week as it's a minor and will probably have a low enough cut line. I'm guessing -14 but could be way off.Hope the greenkeeper cuts down those branches for the weekend :-)

I guess as on real Euro Tour Madeira is one many skip

I thought I could contend this week and all was going good with a decent -12 first round. Figured I needed another -12 or better 2nd. So I was plotting along birdies here and there with a decent chance of getting to -12, - 24 after 2 and then bam! A freaking tree directly in the path of a par 3! I hacked up a double and raged my way into the clubhouse at -6. -18 total.. Unreal!

I hit it in practice and actively tried to avoid it in the tournament and still hit it. Ok not everyone doubled but par was the new birdie and bogie was the new par!

Lol I tried hooking it too but plugged in the bunker and fell apart from there. It just bothers me that there was a freaking tree directly in front of the path off a par 3! Trust me something like this won't keep me from playing by any means.

I tried to punch it under the tree but my 136 yard club carried 170 and landed behind the green. lol. Would've been better to hit the tree and have an up and down from 40 yards out. Instead, I had a nasty downhill chip/flop.

Had a bit of free time today so got my final 2 rounds in, played solid enough but nothing spectacular and had a bit of scrambling here and there. I came up short on the 4th with a nailed on yardage over a 94% shot and couldn't chip it in which was annoying watching the ghost balls tap in from inside 1ft but other than that and a miss read from around 5ft on 18 in round 4 I'm happy enough with this week. The course was a little on the easy side but still nice to play and was well designed.
R1 -11 R2 -14 R3 -10 R4 -8 Total -43

First off, well played tonhead, feng and Mr BRAD PUTT, my faithful ghosts for this event. I witnessed some outstanding shots and all excellent scores to chase.
Sooooo, I shot:
-11 -11 -9 -7
Total: -38
Pretty consistent stuff, and aced the 15th in my final round which saved me from the lingering effects of a dreadful front 9. Made some shocking errors with the putter too which cost me 4-5 strokes but that's a pretty decent return for me in my current iffy form.
Congrats Nantz on your newborn, you've done well to get your scores in!
Lastly, this was a smashing course this week I felt. Looked great, some memorable shots and it kept me thinking all the way to the clubhouse. The pins in R4 were fiendish but a lot of fun. Very best of luck to those still to play the weekend!

Somebody has shot -50, just a head's up I'd well believe it mate, I was thinking between -50 and -53 will win it, there are so many short holes you could hole a pitch on and most of the par 5's are short, still great scoring from anyone that gets there it's not easy to make everything like that.
