-17 for the first round instilled the voice in my head. "you can win this this week". E for the second round and I told the voice to go and *%** itself. -28 for the tourney. -17 is a hell of a round.

Don't worry about mine Terry. I play every tournament (except TST) almost every week religiously. Peter shot lights out though. I think he'll bag a top 10 for sure with that score. Ha.. thanks bud.... Its nice being back on tours after a short layoff.. .You fellas shoot so well and it makes it fun to try (key word) try, to catch you all....
ended up -4 on the last round... I just never got comfortable the faster the greens got... ended up -25 for the four... Best I've done since tying for first in the CC championship last season but not sure if its good enough to make the cut.. we shall see, so I am happy with that...
Great shooting again....
You should make the cut no problem at all. Re faster greens. I used to try my best to avoid them but they have grown on me lately. Very firm and fast are a different story, they can be a nightmare, but I'm slowly starting to like them too. Maybe I'm turning into a bit of a masochist. Quite possibly I'm just a couple of bad rounds from detesting fast greens - this is a funny old game!

Thanks. I can usually manage 1 good round in a tournament. Lol. Not like the good old days of the challenge league where I could string 4 together.

The tantrum I threw last week when I went -8 round 1 and -1 round 2. I can only imagine the carnage in your house after that :/

On to Spyglass :/

I presumed it would be 4 days of the Friday set up? Can someone explain please.
-9 -9
Not sure whether that will make the cut. Had rounds 3 and 4 been rounds 1 and 2 I probably wouldn't as clearly the last 2 rounds were more difficult.

I can say from playing the greens get firmer from day 1 to 2,3 and 4. -18 is a good score going into the weekend!

Four relatively consistent rounds from me this week. Only a single dropped shot if I remember correctly.
The course was fun to play and a decent challenge. Much welcomed after a few weeks of playing courses with many greens impossible to land on (for me anyway!)
Scores:
-12 -5 -9 -6 --- -32
Hoping I might creep into the exemptions with it but the big -39 posted early may suggest it won't be enough. If I get another I definitely won't use it during a WGC event this time!!!

If you look at the schedule over at tgctours.com there is always and I really do mean always just 1 course listed. This is because only 1 setup is submitted. There is a multi-pin thread for each tour on the forums that state what setups will be used on the actual event.

Some low first round scores coming in. That scares me a little, it means no room for error, so the pressure is on early, let's see how I handle it. Last week I mentioned that I love starting with a par five, this week I will mention that I hate starting with a par three, I am more likely to drop a shot on a par three than any other. Today my tee shot was not to bad, around ten feet from the cup, my putt had a double break which I just could not read, no dream start for me. I got my scoring underway on the second with a straightforward drive and pitch. I got to close to the fairway bunker for comfort, a good bounce took me safety away from that. The third should also have been straightforward but I did not pay attention to the shape of the green, my pitch was a little to long but long enough to roll down the slope off the green, the slope also caught me out on my chip which I left short, I missed my par putt and to be honest, was lucky to get away with just one dropped shot. I got that shot back on four but even that was disappointing, eagle is there for the taking on the first round, on my second shot I sliced the ball and took eagle out of the equation. I did give myself eagle chance on the fifth, my tee shot was good, ended up eight feet behind the hole, the putt was downhill, I hit it as gently as I could but was slightly off line and hit the edge of the cup. Two birdies and yet disappointed did not get two eagles, never thought I would be saying that. Needless to say, I did not eagle the sixth either but that one was tougher to get close so happy with birdie there. The conditions were perfect to go straight for the hole on seven, I was a little bit shorter than I would have liked but close enough for birdie. I holed out for eagle on eight, which made up for the disappointing misses earlier, eighty yard pitch which bounced perfectly, a nice surprise which I hope I can use to push on. I did not push on, a par on nine when my approach bounced to far from the cup.
I tried to eighty yard pitch shot again on ten, it worked once so it was bound to work again, it did not work again, off the back of the green and could only make par. A good approach on eleven left with with a straight eight foot putt which even I could not miss and another short putt on twelve brought me to eight under. Thirteen was a short par five, an eagle here would bring me right back in the game. When I rushed my swing on my second shot and hit ninety percent, I decided to be happy with birdie. When I under hit my flop from the rough, I begged the golfing gods to at least give me par, they did but more shots left behind. I played safe on fourteen, I had no choice, I needed to pick up a shot there so the fun shot went out the window. I still nearly made a mess out of it when I did not find the fairway but this time my flop was close enough for birdie. A unexpected birdie brought me to ten under on fifteen, a breaking putt that I did not expect to make dropped, if I could see out the rest of the round with no mistakes or even pick up another shot, I would be happy. So chipping in for eagle on sixteen had me ecstatic. I missed two eagle chances I should have made, and made two I did not expect, what a strange round. I was not that far from eagle on seventeen as well, just two feet away, a tap in birdie was fine by me though. I finished up with a nine foot birdie to bring my score to fourteen under.
I can't believe I shot a sub sixty round. It did not feel like it. I felt like I left to many shots out there. Picking up six shots over the last five holes really helped. I feel a bit strange after that round, happy with my score, a little bit guilty as I am not sure I deserved it. The round is done, it is what it is, time to focus on tomorrow, good luck all.
