Played my first two rounds last night and was reasonably pleased with the outcome of round 1 with a bogey on the 10th being the only real mistake in a good round, it could have been worse as I bounced back off the bank and landed in the shrubs between the rocks and not into the water and could hack out but missed the putt. I am a little bit peeved with my second round though after playing well and giving myself plenty of chances I just couldn't make any birdies on the back 9 at all, ha ha I literally had an eagle on 12 and eight pars. It was really frustrating as I got it in close a good few times and was just the wrong side of the hole or just passed the pin and left some awful putts that slid past. This game baffles me sometimes that you can intentionally play a lofted lob wedge past the flag from a manicured fairway and get no back spin and then be left with a putt that is 5-7" downhill and yet sometimes can spin back off the green from the rough. I really like the course though and not blaming the design for me not holing out a few putts that on another day the majority of them drop and you walk off with a great score. Also I love the way Crazycanuck1985 designs his courses especially the par 5's they do be in range yet are not a certain birdie and make you think, like a lot of the holes on his courses actually the birdies are there for you they are just not automatic and this leaves a fun challenge. RD1 -9 RD2 -8 The cut could get to around -12 on this one I think

Watchers Eve Watcher of the Watchers report 41 hours to goGood morning all, In what has been a very competitive week with the proverbial wall been put up blocking most players using there exemptions with the Pro's been a Minor event this week has made the leaderboard a bit scarier than it has been of late I honestly thought I would be a bit higher on the board an the cutline would be lower but hey that's why I deal with Facts and hate giving predictions!! With 36 watchers hidden in the various trees around this weeks venue and the usual handful of Lurkers submerged in the many lakes around Whonnock it could be a real nail bitter for the Cutline Threaders this week. Watcher safe zone currently sits at -14 good news for myself and congrats to Keeley Breckenridge & Rich Carter for earning there Web cards. -13 92% chance for kckfire and bigtallchris to make it to the weekend only when rather than if really. -12 62% chance to make the weekend we see for the second week Martin "I fought the" Law floating around the potential cutline. -11 47% for jtrippuk, I would say might just squeak in. -10 33% chance for "The Dynamic Cutline" dh-nufc to make the weekend. Its been a bit selfish of me but its great to have TDC back in play . -9 19% shot to get to saturday unfortunately its a case of so close for Greco & Schoenling up from CCA they will miss by 1 or 2 this week. -8 and below all cut Usually this is were I sign off but I have to address the Elephant in the room. I knew this course would catch a few people out and 1 hole can ruin a tournament. But poor oul Darren Brown lived up to his name after opening with a -1 front nine had a double on 10 (won't be the only one) then all hell broke lose. Anyone who knows Darren please go and check on him! 3 brown patchs on his last 8 hole including 2 12s and a 10 for a back 9 of 60! Needless to say he dusted him self off for round 2 and was -6 after 16 and seemed to of vanquished his demons but the brown marks skidded back onto the end of his card with a 11 on 17 and a 12 of 18. I would like to say fair play Mr.Brown the fact you continued and posted your scores is commendable and should be applauded! So lads please take a lession from this show of honesty and remember its not that bad It could of been Darren "5 marks of" Brown

Pretty much given up hope here. I'm already thinking about next week. Did you pick a suitable course for me Moe Slorkman ? Narrow fairways, long, firmish greens but no breaks or sculpting on the greens whatsoever? Please say the next 5 weeks Re just like my description?

I love this course...and hate it. -8 -7 I left some shots out there, especially in R2. But I'm very happy with -16 and looking forward (like getting a root canal) to hopefully playing on the weekend. And -8 R3. Man is the third round tough. Three nice rounds Jared, well played. Before you begin your final round, you might want to visit the Autumn Putting Green to fine tune those putts? ;-). Good luck on last round mate.

My first shot of round two found the rough so that limited my options for my second shot, not possible to even attempt to find the green in two. I put my third shot close for a birdie start. With the risky shot taken away from me on the first, I decided I might as well take a chance on the second. As soon as I hit it, I knew I was not going to clear the rocks, but where was the ball going to end up. Like all shots the have a questionable outcome, the ball traveled in slow motion, it finally hit the top of the rocks and bounced forward, clearing the green and stopping forty yards in the heavy rough. Which in the end was a good result, it allowed me to pitch the ball close for a second birdie. The conditions were perfect for putting the ball close on the third but I found myself on the wrong side of the cup with a breaking putt, nevertheless I should have made it, my ball hit the edge of the cup and just would not drop, I left a birdie behind me there. I did go three under on four, again the low winds meant it possible to go straight for the hole, a positive start, now to avoid doing anything silly. I hit my second shot on five straight towards the trees, not what I had planned, just hit to much draw, the ball went through the branches and thankfully dropped on the fairway, I sliced my approach a little leaving me further away than I would have liked, my birdie putt did not have much break though and I rolled it in for birdie. I was happy to take par on six, I had a put with a lot of break, I just wanted to avoid over hitting it and have it travel far from the hole, a good par. A disappointing tee shot on seven left me well behind the hole with a tricky downhill putt, like the last hole, I just wanted to avoid putting myself in a position where bogey came into play, so I hit it gently and was surprised to see it slowly roll into the cup. My pitch to the green on eight also took me by surprise, not by rolling in into the cup this time but how far it rolled past, my birdie putt just missed and I think I left another birdie behind me. I came close to messing up the ninth, my approach was all wrong and ended up rolling forty feet from the hole, now was time for a good lag putt, it was uphill which allowed me to put some pace on the ball which stopped four feet short, I gratefully took par for what was a good front nine. I just wanted to avoid bogey on ten, so I took no chances, my ball rolled off the green but I expected that, I could have done better with my chip but par was never in doubt. I made life difficult for myself on eleven with yet another misjudged pitch that went well beyond the hole, I also misjudged my chip putting a little bit of pressure on myself with the par putt. I made the putt. I still needed to pick up a couple of more shots but also needed to avoid leaving myself in positions where my good word on the front nine could come undone. I hit a eighty nine percent tee shot on twelve, my heart was in my mouth as I saw that my ball might not clear the water, it landed just in the rough on the waters edge, inches from disaster. I had to play a wedge to make sure I found the fairway and was left with a long iron shot to the green. The putt I ended up with was terrifying, severe break, downhill, lagging this was not possible, putting it in the hole was the only way to stop the ball and I did, somehow I got it right, after my tee shot, I just wanted to get away with par, to make birdie was such a bonus. I was taking no risks on thirteen, I could do without another heart in mouth situation, so a nice safe tee shot followed by a terrible approach which left me a fifteen foot putt which I then proceeded to make a complete balls off, I hit it thirteen feet past the hole, so much for avoiding heart in mouth situations. I made par, the putt coming back dropped and I took a five minute break to stop the shaking. There was no way I was going for the green in two on fourteen after the previous two holes. I played a iron for my second shot to make sure I was well short. I got my pitch right this time and the tap in birdie brought a little relief to the back nine. It seems two sensible shots in a row is beyond me, I took a driver on fifteen and ended up in the heavy rough, there was no way I was putting my second close, so it was lag putt time again for a good par. Sixteen was playing tough today, I went through different shot options in my head and could not find one that might bring birdie, I played my tee shot well short but it was not stopping and it rolled off the green behind the hole, a safe par was made when I chipped close. I found the bunker with my tee shot on seventeen, my bunker shot ended up five feet behind the cup with a putt that scared the living shite out of me, it did not break much, it was not a steep downhill shot, but if I went beyond the hole I could end up off the green. I chickened out and just tapped it, just enough to make the ball roll a little so I could guarantee par. I finished up with another safe par and was happy to leave the course seven under. That back nine was tense, I did lose my nerve towards the end when maybe I could have pushed a little. I left a couple of shots behind me on the front nine but more than made up for it on the back nine by getting away with murder. I am not going to play my third round for a day or day, give myself time to recover for what I guess will be a tougher round. That's if I make the cut. I am hopeful fifteen under will. Good luck all. Nice shootin Dan, keep it going. Is there an end of season trophy for detailed round posts? You get my vote!! Ps...if you want or need to practice your putting before your next round...the Autumn Putting Green might help... ;-)

Thanks a lot to everybody for the kind comments and for cheering for me, it brings warmth to my cold Canadian heart! It seems that, as of now, at -13, it should be enough to get an exemption on the Tour. I am really happy, but at the same time, there are still multiple very good players who haven't teed up yet. I'm crossing my fingers here. Thanks to MoeSlorkman for this nice Watchers Report, this is very interesting. Lino. I should really take notes during my rounds, so I can give accurate accounts (nine-hole scores, holes that this "event" happened on, etc.). So there are a few guesstimates of some of these hole numbers and nine-hole scores. Anyways... The title of my 3rd round: A Tale of Two Flops by Snarls Thickens - During the front nine (hole 6), I flopped a shot from the fringe about 35 yards out that began to back-spin...and back-spin...and back-spin, until the ball eventually rolled back between my legs and finally came to rest...about a yard BEHIND ME! Triple-bogey. After hole 10, I was at +1.
- During the back nine, I had my first ever "basketball jump shot" flop right into the hole...no bounce, straight from my iron to the bottom of the cup! That helped me shoot -6 over the last 8 holes, leaving me with a respectable -5 for the 3rd round.
The bad-front-nine/good-back-nine scores switched for the 4th round. I was -4 after the front nine and high up on the PS4 leaderboard, feeling really good. After turning the corner, all hell broke loose. Bogie, double-bogie to start the back nine coupled with a double-bogie, bogey on holes 15 and 16. Needless to say, my feelings of "I'm crushing this 4th round" quickly turned into "this 4th round is crushing me"! I finished round the 4th round at +1. Final Tourney Score = -17 Kudos to the course selection! I'd much rather play tourneys that have cut lines at -11 or -12, instead of -18 or -19. At times, I played this course as if it were another "birdie fest" course, and it really cost me. One small mistake on this course can sometimes cost you three shots. I also probably missed about ten putts that were less than eight feet from the hole! A little more concentration and patience on my part would've greatly improved my score.....I feel like I left a top-10 finish out there, even with my final leaderboard finish probably being in the high 50s to 60s. It was so frustrating at times.....I love it!
