Well, I've been tracking the first round scores coming in so far and by my estimation, in C class, 20 under is going to be needed just to avoid the demotion strike line. Forget about earning a C card on SE. That ship has sailed for me. So I'll be back in D class next week where I belong to work on my game and hopefully someday improve enough to make it to C and stay there. But right now, with the scores being posted, no way can I compete with these guys.

I hate pin 3. A struggle to get to +2 after I broke my controller in frustration. Missed almost EVERY putt by the width of a hair with a slight tap and then it just rolled right off the green.

Playing in CC-E.
My putting really let me down in this tournament. I guess I need more practice with sloping greens and tough pins. Shot E, -3, +8 (yikes), E.
As I was sitting down for my first round I was on the first tee and said to myself ok lets have a good tourney. Then on my drive I shanked it into the water. That's how my tournament went.
A couple strokes were from me accidentally swinging when I was trying to do a green read (lol).
Didn't care much for the greens in this course. I don't remember the last tourney I played in (Wayne Enterprises in December) being this hard.

Early report from the course superintendent is the staff attempted to firm up the course for the weekend and it got a little firmer and faster than they really wanted. So they did a lot of over night watering to soften the course up for Sunday. The Saturday course conditions should really be interesting to see how the field can handle the changes. All in all the course staff feels that they have provided a good test to identify the best players in the field.

I loved the course todd, great work by the whole staff

Very nice course. Picturesque and well thought out. The greens were definitely a test for the putter.

Round 1 - 67. Front 9 was good, back 9 horrible.
Round 2 - 63. A good round overall, helped by an eagle from the bunker on 18. (See clip below)
Round 3 - 70. Yikes. Simply yikes.
Round 4 - 67. Left A LOT of strokes on the course.
-21 is middling. Maybe a strike, maybe not.

Well, something strange may very well happen this week depending on how round 4 goes.
Currently, I am 3 under for the tournament and below the demotion strike line on a sponsor's exemption in C. I'm 16 strokes behind the top sponsor's exempt player.
However, in round 4, which hasn't been posted yet, I pulled a 7 under par out of my rear end. Yeah, don't ask me how I did it.
Accordingly to my calculation, that would put me over the demotion strike line. But even more important, should the top sponsor do worse than 7 under, I'll actually earn my C card.
Having said that, I'm not exactly sure that's a good thing. The guys in C are infinitely better than me and I don't really think I can compete in this class, yet.
But that's the scenario.
Tomorrow, it's going to be interesting to see what the top sponsor shot unless somebody already knows. He's Tyler Wilde and plays on PC. I'd check myself, if possible, but I have no idea how.
Anyway, I'm sitting on pins and needles here wondering how this is all gonna go down.

According to my estimate, it will be 10 under which is exactly what I shot. It is going to be very, very close.
