I am thinking that in the above group, 3 teams will probably qualify with only one being eliminated. There is no other way around it as these countries have to be in the same group.

An alternative idea wud be to hav qualifying tournaments for these countries before the WC starts...whittle teams down to 2 members and then either randomly assign teams to groups or seed teams based on WGR....

As I already stated at the beginning there will be qualifying tournaments for those countries with a large amount of players. That is what people are signing up for, a chance to represent their country in the World Cup.

I think havin Ireland, England, USA & Canada in the same group will dilute the quality of the knockout stages...2 of them teams will be knocked out before the tourny even gets started...a bit harsh imo... if more countries can be made, 16 minimum then each of those 4 can be in each of the 4 groups of 4 i suppose to give everyone a chance to make it through and leave the chance of for instance, team england (ian and bradley or daniel and dean or gavin and tom) vs usa (Tim and yates or rob d), team canada (canuck and tim or nick and matt) vs team ireland (brian and tony) or add in the possibility of team australia with players like (rod, peter m, jason d) meeting in the semi's, the combination of the players will be fun to see and also to watch lol.

Yes but ur sayin in the OP the 4 countries may hav up to 30 players each for the group stages and thats why they need to be in the same group...however as I stated above an alternative wud be to whittle it down to 2 players per country before the group stages..then the groups can be random or seeded instead of seein one or two of the top sides crash out b4 the party starts...jus an idea.

Yes seperating them into different groups wud be better for the tourny imo....but in the current set up these teams cud hav 30 players each and thats why the proposition is tat they all compete in the same group....i think its over complicating it and diluting the quality very early on.

That idea is certainly possible and one I even thought about myself and I would be happy to go with this. The only reason I didn't was that there would be so many great players that wouldn't even be taking part in the World Cup, only in a qualifying tournament.

Very gud players will miss out. If ur stickin wit 2 i think qualifyin tournys to get the 2 is the best option...then u can drop teams into random groups or seed them.

The only reason that I am sticking to teams of two is to allow other countries to take part, such as Brazil and Japan, who only have 2 players. I think you are right though and maybe just have the top two from every country qualify.

Another problem wit havin a top 15 for 1 country in the groups and usin tat to find the top 2 is say England for example.... jus say Ian & Brad are the 2 for the knockout stages they cud well go on and win it but hypothetically them 2 cud be knocked out by their under performing countrymen in the group assumin everyones score counts for something.
At least if we hav a definitive 2 before the WC starts everybody knows whos responsible for each team from the start to end of the event.
