So, obviously, it is much easier to make the euro tour at this point due to temporary qualification changes.
Couple of questions for everyone: 1. Would i ever be able to switch to the pga at some point if i make the euro? Let's say at the end of the year? 2. What happens at year end? The top so many people stay in their respective tour, based on ranking or something? 3. I earned an exemption this last week, can i use it in march? I think it would be better to see if i can rack up a few more exemptions. Is this what everyone complains about? 4. I understand that pga and euro players can play either league. Do points or money care over between the two? Or would it be bad to play too many cross over events?
Just trying to figure this whole thing out. I doubt my skill set is ready for the prime time as i feel i am still a few strokes away from the elite web guys.

1. End of the year we allow people to swap tours via an email request - we can also do this mid-season if the tour dips below max field for a few weeks in a row (which the PGA isn't doing right now) 2. yes - best to have someone link to last year's Race to Dubai and FedEx Cup threads to get the gist of our year end procedures. I'll try and track it down if someone doesn't get to it 3. no, have until Friday to use it before it expires. Can be used on any event with open registration though so if you wait until Monday you can use it 2 weeks out 4. still ironing out the crossover playoffs but suffice to say it will be similar to Season 1 where only a select few will benefit (think winners while crossing over). So generally best to stay on own tour if you are on the bubble but for most crossing over every now and then won't be an issue

2. What happens at year end? The top so many people stay in their respective tour, based on ranking or something?
The FedEx Playoffs on PGA consists of four events, The first event is 125 players, then 100, 70, and the Tour Championship is 30 entrants. Last year it worked like this: The Top 125 active PGA card holders were eligible for the FedEx playoffs. In addition, any Euro member who won on a PGA event (and may also apply to WGC and Major winners but not positive) could choose to play in the FedEx playoffs. I believe last year one Euro player chose to do so.
For the Race To Dubai, the money list is the actual Race To Dubai. The Race To Dubai playoffs is also four events. The first three events are the top 78 active European card holders on the Race To Dubai (money) list at the end of the regular season. In addition, any PGA member who won a Euro event (again the same not sure on WGCs and Majors) is eligible. The fourth and last event is the final and the field is trimmed to the top 60 in the Race To Dubai (money list) standings.
For last season, I remember those that did not make it to the third FedEx PGA playoff event (Top 70) had to play in the Web.com Finals along with those who failed to make the top 125 playoff field to defend their card. For the European field I am not sure if it was those outside the original 78 who made the playoffs or those that did not make the final 60 for the final, but if one did not meet those qualifications you would also have to play the Web.com Finals along with those European players who failed to make the 78 person field for the Race To Dubai.
This year it was announced certain players are able to play in both playoffs, but the criteria to play in the playoffs of your non-home tour is winning on the opposite tour currently, which is a good compromise and I find this a good solution to allow it, but to make it tough to be able to do. If this were not in place, I could probably play enough crossover European events myself to stay inside the top 78 in $$$ Euro list, but I feel I shouldn't be able to play their Race To Dubai playoffs without a win as I would be taking a spot from a 'regular' European tour member. Tyler Duke won a European event early in the season. To me, he has earned the right to play their playoffs if he wishes.

Doyley, for these folks new to this process or not sure, I would like to you confirm this is still in effect as the schedule coming up has a couple WGC events and the first Major of the season: In a minor event (A 'side' event on the PGA and also a different 'side' event on the European Tours) during the week of a Tour Championship, a World Golf Championship (WGC), or a Major Championship... players on exemption from Web in one of those 'side/minor' evnents are not eligible to earn their card during that week. Still true? I bring that up so that those here on Web.com wanting to move up to the PGA or European Tour take their exemptions during a week when they are eligible to move up. FYI to all: There is a WGC in week 21 and 24, and the Masters is week 26.

FYI for everyone. I registered for week 20 on the Euro Tour. I will play WEB this week. No need to explain yourself man there is absolutely nothing wrong with what you are doing, you have an exemption and have registered to use it. I think the majority of the complaints do be over lads winning exemptions and not using them at all and they effectively go to waste and rob the guys trying to promote of a spot.

Correct - can not earn a pro tour card in a minor event. Web players please read this if you want to move up to PGA or European Tour! Thank you Doyley for clarification that this rule is still in effect. I would like to point this out once again for anyone wanting to move up and currently having or may earn an exemption at the end of this week. Next week (Week 20) is eligible for promotion. PGA is highest exemption finisher (making the cut of course) only getting their card. For Euro, one has to just earn their card by making the cut and finishing the tournament. Week 21 is ineligible to earn a PGA or Euro card as the WGC event will take away the top players, making the side/minor events on each tour a "lighter" field.

Fair play to you man, this should be made a sticky as no doubt there will be a whole load more questions and confusion about it with these upcoming WGC events.

Hello Web members. I am making one more plea. I see two Web.com card holders registered in the European tour next week (week 21). If it is your intention to earn a Pro (PGA or Euro) card, then you cannot earn a card in a minor event whilst a WGC or Major is going on the same week. Week 21 has a WGC event. If you are understanding this, and are just testing yourself against the field whilst understanding you cannot earn a card next week, then no worries and carry on.

Hi, I have somehow managed earn an exemption on Web this week, so to clarify... as this is a WGC week coming up (Week 21), if I use my exemption no matter the result I am ineligible to earn a permanent card? However I can use my exemption instead to register for the euro week 22 tournament (True Thailand Classic), which WILL give me a chance to earn a permanent card... is this correct? D:

D: That's correct, as a bonus, gives you a week to practice week 22 course. Good luck earning your euro tour card when you do play.

Thanks Dan, i'll take my chances. I feel bad as there are lots of people who have been in Web for a while, are way better and more consistent than I am and straight up deserve a shot at moving up more than I do. But i'll definitely try and take the opportunity and do my best to move up as who knows when I would get another chance...
