I'll sit out next week, no worries. Unwritten rule and all, I've been playing it solidly for five months. I play for fun and if the fun is gone currently, there's nae point. I can completely empathize with you on this. The game has been very frustrating lately and there hasn't been much of an explanation as to what might have changed. If it was just me, I would say it was just me, but from what I'm hearing there are many, including some of the elite players that feel something has changed, tho no one is quite sure as to what. Not noticed anything different really. Still get the odd weird thing happen from time to time but that has allways been there. It happens to everybody so its not the end of the world even though it hurts when it happens. Just got to play as good as you can around it.

I've calmed down since yesterday, I'll finish the final 9 holes on round 4 and get my scores in. Its just the first time I've felt actual anger with the bloody game as practice went so damn well. Here's to a 70th place finish!
Onwards and upwards eh!

Well I was -10 and -14 for the first two rounds and knowing there wasn't much in the way of wind for the weekend I fancied my chances of a top 25, maybe even top 10, as it's mainly been wind that I'm still struggling with - my putting's been spot on just recently. Sat down this afternoon, started with 3 birdies and thought "it's on", only to hit pars and bogeys for 5 holes. Recovered with a solid back 9 to make -7. Still considered a top 25 feasible so concentrated hard for the final round only to have a full on collapse on the front 9. Went into the final 9 holes at +2 (!) so did pretty well to bring back to -6 but the damage was already done. Finished up -37 and suspect that won't do it for a top 25 finish so back to the drawing board here. I counted 6 lipped puts one or two of which were inexplicable. The others were down to being just the tiniest fraction off on pace which is my Achilles Heel under pressure - I seem to have one collapse every week which spoils my tournament, nearly always round 3. Why round 3? It's got to the point where I'm dreading round 3 I am going mad I reckon. Any advice about how to put 4 solid rounds together would be welcome - I'm thinking maybe I should keep some basic notes on my practice rounds... just a note of things to avoid on what holes as too many times a hole just falls apart due to some avoidable error of judgement off the tee and then I'm scrambling and rarely save the birdie. Anyway I enjoyed the course as I have every week since being on the Tour. Love the variety. Anway well played to those in the running and best of luck to those still chasing a score

Its Round 3 and 4 that pissed me off!

Can't believe I go from tied for the lead after 3 to possibly dropping out of the top 10.

Can't believe I go from tied for the lead after 3 to possibly dropping out of the top 10. Oh ok.... Dr Tony will try to make u feel better on this!! also I'm going to state the following to you before some other "friend" does so .... My nickname on the TGC is an unwanted 1 "the kobeoshi choker" after 36h of a euro event last season I led the field by 5 shots I think it was! Then I literally IMPLODED!! think I shot -16 -14 in the opening 2 rds. Round 3 I went in on 17 mph winds ( wind update wasn't in action at this point) and shot -1.. Final round was -9 I think! And I finished just outside top 10.. The reason I'm telling you this is because I obviously see similarities in what happened to u n I... next time you'll hopefully do better if u get into such a position..

Not done that in a while but i think sulking through the end of round 3 and round 4 has cost me a top 3. Well played all. Just on my way to see my mental coach before i play across the pond. Good luck all for next week.

Watched a couple friends play round 4 and it looks like i wasn't the only person to have issues of under 100% shots on that final round. I had 4. They had 3 or 4 ;(

Congrats Ian, great shooting mate. A final round of 54 is very impressive, and that holed flop shot on 17 has given you the win this week That's what you've got to do to win nowadays as the competition is so fierce. It seems that whoever wins has a few moments of magic like that, just when they need it Good scoring by a lot of players this week, on a great course that can cause problems.
