Im starting to think there might be something to this watcher thing. Last week i was -15 after 2 rounds and i just watched my score get closer and closer to the cut then finally cut. I might hold off a few days this week and play my rounds mid week. Can someone explain this "watcher" thing to me? I assume it has something to do with watching the leaderboard? "A Watcher " watches the leaderboard for info and only plays wed-thurs & Saturday. "A Waiter" plays early but doesn't post scores to last minute "A Lurker" late registers plays late and gains info from forum "A Watcher" on steroids if you will Nantez is the man for all terms but that's a snapshot he's affectivatly developed a new dictionary on Web

Watcher, Lurker, Waiter, etc.  It is just playful banter as the week goes on.  Moe does a great report each week as the cut line approaches.  It all just adds to the enjoyment of the community and the discussions here. Cheers Yaters! It's nice to be appreciated:)

Well here we go again ... putter was cold 1st round, better 2nd round, meh 3rd round and 1 very naughty pin position in the 4th round could cost exemption by one stroke if canthitstraight 's prediction is correct ... something for the watchers to salivate over -10 -15 -12 -9 for a total of -46

Ah Mr Canuck I'd be glad to explain what a watcher is hahaha A watcher is a person who watches the leaderboard to find out what they need to shoot either (a) make the cut or (b) to win. A waiter is one that leaves it till the last minute to post their scores etc. They are a breed of watcher also but sneakier as they are known to play their rounds but not post their score till the last minute, thus giving people false hope at making the cut, top 5 or the win and then they inflict pain on their victims. Which brings us on to a lurker Now a lurker is the highest order of a watcher and waiter combined. These are the people that slip under the radar unnoticed. They late register at the last second to slay and crush peoples dreams of making the cut. They are dangerous and stealthy and perve on the spoiler threads for information such as scores, course conditions, wind speed etc. They do not post themselves. I could go on all day haha here are some new terms A hoarder.....one who stockpiles exemptions but doesn't ever use them. Here it is in a sentence as an example.. ''Aww man Ratna is such a hoarder I missed out on an exemption spot this week again over him'' A watcher on steroids is an elite watcher ie Doyley, Smurf or pretty much anyone inside the WGR top ten that watch the field to see what score they need to win. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Hahaha hope you can take in all that madness :-)

He seems to always be the first Euro player to play his rounds on PC so I would like to think that he's anti-watcher.

They seem to be a little too serious up top. Moe stop hacking and get an exemption will you ;-)

-10 under and a -12 under and as decent as that sounds I still can't make putts in the 5 to 15 foot range. Nothing.

With nothing to do all day, I decided to practice a couple rounds and then tackle the web rounds on Angel's Plateau. I was/am feeling particularly motivated after a seasons-best T7 this week, and now I am ever so anxiously awaiting what kind of scores the dreaded watchers are going to put up as the week goes on. I really enjoyed the course. Canuck's greens tend to have certain ways to approach them, and I did a good job all week of finding my spots. My putting certainly let me down a couple times...I think I missed about 5 sliders for eagle. But overall I am happy...though certainly I never make things easy on myself. Round 1 -13 59 Round 2 -13 59 Round 3 -11 61 Round 4 -10 62
For a -47...one worse than Jimmy and one better than Gav. Made a 15 foot butt-clencher on the last to take the lead on PS4 for the moment. I imagine with how gettable some of the holes are in the first 2 rounds, we'll see at least one person get to -50. Hoping I can somehow chisel a top 5, but I think I may be destined to be a web.com grinder who gets promoted at the end of the season.
Good luck to all!
