You are totally right Tom. I have points in the backswing where i go to to get a certain speed for a putt but i don't always hit that perfectly so maybe thats why i am missing. I need to practice more

I need to practice more I wouldn't even look at the backswing... It's all about timing for me. I just know how long to swing back before I hit it.

I couldn't ever go by timing, i would just be all over the place.

All pro tour players dont need help imo...they know the fundamentals of how to play the game, they know their weaknesses and strengths and need to work on them by playin more.
Its the the lower level CC players that need mentoring imo. There the ones who most likely are making basic mistakes that can be iradicated very quickly and save them many strokes every event. Pro tour players strive for perfection which will most like never happen unless ur Kenny Willis obviously.
This is why I wud only offer to help lower level CC players because theyre the ones tat can really benefit from it in my opinion.

misternic on xbox. Let me know when you want to play and lets do it. Sounds good. It's unlikely I'll have time until next week though. Tomorrow is busy, and I'm out of town on the weekend No worries, catch me in a private message and we can get together...

Put my name under "Designer Help Wanted" - I really want to get better at course creation. If this designer mentoring thing takes off as well, I would also be interested in getting some help with course design. I'm very new to it, but I love what the designer has to offer (and I'm sure I've barely even scratched the surface)

I'd mentor if someone wants my mentoring. Thing is though. I'm not top tier anything. I'd be willing to help out players or designers. WGR 500ish. Web.com PS4. Central European Time (CET).
I believe my help would benefit a player in the lower tiers of CC. Why? I'm not as good as the pros and stick to basics. I don't do flashy calculations or extensive lofting. I get around a golf course well enough without it.
I believe my help would benefit designers that are newcomers or moderately experienced. Why? Same here. I'm in no shape or form best at anything. I havent mastered any of the tools used, but in my own humble opinion I've put out some decent courses. You can find examples in my sig.
I might be without Internet for a couple of weeks, but I'm available on the forums until I am back and I can watch YouTube or twitch.

While CC players certainly are better candidates, someone like me really doesn't understand the nuances of the game well enough to compete on the top tour. I'm average at best there. I'd like to get better and I think working with someone, understanding their thought process, and practicing that can go a long ways. I watched a stream last week by DoubtfulObelisk and picked up two distinct things that I had no idea about. I've also watched ghost balls and streams where I see things and I'm not quite sure how the better players are pulling them off. I can drive the ball just fine (we all can...that's not often an issue). I can get to the green well enough. But scoring is where I am hurting. Most of this is feel and practice but there are some small techniques that I can still learn from. The other aspect is learning to play the courses you guys compete on. They are a whole different ball of wax than other tours. Firm and Fast greens caused me fits the first time I played it. I'm still struggling with planning my approaches so they don't all fire off the back of the green or roll back off the front.

What things did you pick up, just out of curiosity? If I had more time, I'd definitely commit to being a mentor. However, my time on TGC will be limited nearly exclusively to the weekends for the foreseeable future. I could play one or maybe two rounds a week with someone and talk through what I do, but that'd be about it. I usually stream my tour rounds on Twitch, but I try to limit instruction on those streams and focus on my game. If people would like more instructional streams, I could do those sporadically, as well. DoubtfulObelisk - XB1, if anyone is willing to put up with my time constraints.
