Sloppy final two rounds for me again. 1st Round -8 2nd Round -10 3rd Round -6 4th Round -5 Started getting lag in the 3rd round on a few holes which contributed to a 5 foot putt going 20 foot lol. Should have quit and restarted the game but I'm quite lazy and fight on through! The final two rounds I didn't give myself many good birdie putts at all. I had plenty of practice of 25+ yard putts with mole hills in the way though

-11 after 11. 13 after 18. I managed to choke as usual and that was only a practice round. Still I'd be delighted with a score like that when I start my rounds tonight.
Watch out everyone!!! Cue a 69 and a 68 for a missed cut again!!!

Are you Hochiminh (or something like that) on XB1? That guy also shot -49 with a -15 final round. If so, I played with your ghost and you had a solid tourney. Good shooting either way buddy. That's my tag. Had an above avg tournament for my skill. Hope to parlay the good week into a PGA card. Nice, definitely a solid four rounds. I usually play my rounds (or at least the first two) Saturday morning and you and antjmurray are always the only two posted scores I see. Good luck on exemption next week.

"humphrie5" just posted a 58 under on PC. I predicted someone would reach -60 in the shoutbox after I finished -49. So many good players it was bound to happen on the course.

I will be so jealous of the winner of that beaut and I will break into their house in the middle of the night and keep that bad boy for myself.....then ironically I will wake up in the middle of the night to the sounds of heavy breathing and Mr Timmons will be standing over me to steal the trophy for himself :-) haha dear lord

Round 1 with hopes of a good score after a good practice round.
First off I'd never played in winds in this direction, it made the course play very differently. That's good design in my books. I got off to a solid start and was -4 after 6. My first set back was on the 7th where I lost my first shot of the round. On a course where people are scoring well it's a big set back. I knew I needed to get the shot back straight away and I did with birdies on 8 and 9. It was a strange front 9, I made some putts I normally wouldn't but had some scrambling to do too. I chipped in on one hole, not sure which one. Some of my approach play was really good whereas others left a lot to be desired. I had some unlucky roles on t shots too so was in the rough far too much. Onto the back 9 and more steady progress. 8 under after 11 was a good score and on track for my target of -10. The par 5 15th would give me the opportunity for one of those birdies. It didn't start well as my t shot just found the rough. It was heavy rough, by the time I made the green I had a longish putt for birdie. I missed the birdie putt, I was disappointed. What happened afterwards though will rock the world of golf. Par putt missed, bogey putt missed. A 7 guys and girls believe it or not on a hole where par was disappointing. My week was over again. WHY DO I DO THIS? 2 birdies on the last 3 holes including a very difficult putt on the last put me back to -8 and things into perspective. It wasn't too bad really. Time to calm down and turn up for 18 holes for round 2. DH-NUFC = NUFC. We always shoot ourselves in the foot!

Great synopsis Dean, you are going to like the slight breeze and soft conditions in R2. As one who walks with a perpetual limp from self inflicted wounds I can relate.

Round 2. Struggled with the softer conditions and I think maybe harder pin placements? -4 after 8 and -5 after 10 was solid enough. Bogey on the par 3 12 was a disaster. I lofted a 5 wood but hooked horribly. I couldn't get it close enough on my recovery shot from deep deep rough. 2 birdies after that left me -6 and -14 overall. With cut line predicted at -14 should I go bust or play safe? A good tee shot put me in a good position but 90 yards out. Up hill, wind behind, and a lofted club will spin back down the hill. I went for a pitch 8 iron I think but got it horribly wrong. Now 15 yards in the rough in front of the green. My -14 looks in doubt. I flop it on and miss the holes by 0.00005 inches. Happy to make par but gutted for it not to drop and give me a little bit of a cushion. Agonising again!

I'm also sitting at -14 after two disappointing rounds, and I'm hoping that I can just squeeze in under the cut line, but I'm not holding my breath. Good luck!
