This tournament has basically summed up my tgc career !
Round one was tough greens very slick and tricking pins but were accessible had 2 lip outs early on and had alot of 3 inch putts in the later stages of the round had an acceptable -6 something to build on to get clear of the watchers!
Round 2 I went a bit mental think i hit every green and fairway every approach was within 15ft that I remember. Amazingly I left a few shots out there with leaving a couple of puts short but -14 was the end result more than pleased!
Round 3 AKA The Nemesis! My golden rule of playing tgc is when your playing well done move dont change anything just keep going. Cue controller dieng. Of course this forced me to move decided sure I might as well check on my daughter have a cup of coffee and a sandwich hang up the washing. Then soon followed the classic blow up (Moe Up to my friends) missing putts of all distances hitting the ball like a continental soldier left then right then left. then on the short par 4 put more than a box of draw on it (checked the replay wasn't meant to go that far) cue the snap hook splash at this point my wife left the room! feel to the end and a -4.
Round 4 more of the same it just wasn't happening putts not dropping my maths had left me and I was just looking for the clubhouse at this stage shot a -5 and was left to think what could of been probably top 10 after 2 but certainly staring at 50+ finish now!
For anyone still to go out be aware 3&4 are a tougher set up than 2 not as tough as I made it look and maybe it was just me but there seemed to be alot of movement in the last 2 foot of every putt I had several putts that looked dead centre that either stopped up on downhillers or increased break right or left closer to the hole. Now this might of been me so take it with a pinch of salt.
On the plus side I guess this means ill be around for "The Watchers Championship" next week, every cloud and all that!

Nice to see you getting that excemption after the scorecard misshap last time. -8 is solid on the first round. I had a rubbish -4. Just couldn't sink anything and a whole heap of 90 something swings. Hey Ola sorry to hijack this thread somewhat but I was about to play this tourney (for practice) and I saw your post. I just pipped your 60 with a 59 whilst practicing Ye Olde Douglas Harbor Gold. I seem to be on a bit of a streak just lately I'm currently playing in CC-A after gaining exemption whilst on exemption. Had a solid tourney at Emirates so really hoping I can earn my CC-A card and then hopefully make a bid for the Web Tour! Sounds like you will be joining us on Web very soon. Looking forward to it. Web is a different beast than CC Imo, but anyone competing at the top of pretty much any cc level has a shot on Web. Heck one of the excemption players last week won it.

I went -4, -11, -10, -7 for a grand total of -32. I am really hoping that the second round -11 will be enough to get me through the cut. I felt like I played great in the second and third rounds. Anyways, on to Massara GC for some practice for the rest of this week!

Id say -15 will be fine, the first round will mess alot of people up and will be struggling to recover canthitstraight has said -12 and he's never that far off bar last week.

A pretty rubbish attempt by me this week, played ok rd 1 and that is about it, even then left a good few out there. Never got it going on this course at all and just couldn't make much. Pretty much gave up after rd 2 seeing the scores coming in on that one, anything worse than -10 will be going backwards with -14 and -16 being shot. Played the last tow rounds just to get it over with in case I somehow make the cut on -13. Nice course though and liked the setup of rd1 and rd4. R1 -6 R2 -7 R3 -7 R3 -3

You give me too much credit Shane! Median score on round 1 seems to be -5 so far across 45 submissions. Round 2 average will be quite a bit higher. So perhaps I will be off by more than 2 strokes on the cut line once again.

I'm going to agree on the -12... I think round 2 is easier, which will bump the scores up.
Put me down for a -9 to start.

My second round was a -10 with some easy putts missed which was a shame. -18 after two rounds.
3rd Round my ball kept moving more than expected on the green, especially on the last foot to the cup. My head was sinking when I was -4 after 15 but three birdies to finish made it semi decent. I was 1 foot from my first albatross which had me off my seat..shame I followed that eagle with a dreadfully played bogey hole.
-25 from three rounds.
I played the first two holes of round four and am sat even par. Hoping to score well enough for my Web card.

Some of you guys are amazing. I've practiced all rounds once and apart from a last round -9 I really struggled. Fair play guys. Making the cut will be a tough challenge yet again.
