With winds somewhere between 7 and 18 mph, and after 10 consecutive pars, I managed an interesting bogey-free round of 67 (which is seven shots best than my previous lowest round here)
Good luck everybody, get ready for some breezy golfing

I was 6 over for the tourney. Some of those greens seemed tricked up a bit.

Four rounds played. Very disappointing play by myself. In every single round, not only in this tournament, but in the last weeks, I need almost a miracle to make putts. And in every single round, not only in this tournament, but in the last weeks, there is always a hole, where I make silly mistakes which cost me a bunch of shots. In these four rounds, in only two holes I've lost five shots. My final score is -4, going nowhere with that.
Next tournament will be better, for sure

I have a feeling the scores will be relatively high and you'll still end up doing well and maybe even winning this thing if you're in E Class. Keep the faith.

I don't feel bad at all, just pointing out my main problem in the tournament game. I play much better than a few weeks ago for sure, but I'm still inconsistent, very inconsistent. I will solve that for sure, but as i work on that, I still move in the top 30. Which is what I expect to get for this week

I will solve that for sure, but as i work on that, I still move in the top 30. Which is what I expect to get for this week I'm sure you'll be fine. Personally, I've made note of what my main problems are and am working on them. Oddly, putting isn't really a big problem. In fact, I miss most putts by only a few inches to a foot. I'm very close on most of my putts. My biggest problems are. 1) Inconsistent Drives - I pull too many. Maybe 2 to 3 per round which is just enough to add several strokes to my score as I have to scramble out of the rough at best and at worst, end up in water. If I could drive straight consistently, my game would improve greatly just from that. 2) Inability To Read Winds Correctly - I seem to have a big problem when the winds are really kicking up, especially from left to right or right to left. I aim far from the flag and yet I still seem to end up way on the other side in the rough or trap. I'm better on head winds than I used to be and tail winds are usually no problem. 3) Poor Rollout Calculation - When landing on the green, I am really bad on calculating how far the ball is going to rollout after landing. I'm great at going straight for the pin and usually come close to it, unless there are cross winds, but then there is that rollout and I haven't figured out how to account for it, especially on greens where there is so little space between the front fairway leading to the green and the pin. When I try to come up shorter, I come up too short. Add in the cross winds and I end up in the front left or right bunker or rough. In short, I haven't figured out how to make my approaches roll nicely towards the pin and stop just before it. 4) Chipping - I can't do it at all and don't even bother, substituting a flop shot in its place. Every time I chip, I end up going 14 yards past the pin. I simply don't know how to use the mechanic in this game at all so I avoid it. My strength, and the only thing that allows me to shoot as well as I do because I have to scramble a lot, is my ability to flop out of the rough or trap and come within a foot of the pin in most cases. That's mostly because I have a lot of practice with it because I'm in the rough or trap so often. And that's it. That's an honest evaluation of my game. How I have a +6 handicap is beyond me, which is why I don't put much stock in the handicap system. There is no way I'm that good. As for the tours themselves, I now take them with a grain of salt and have gone back to just enjoying playing this game which is now the only video game I play. Says a lot about it. I'm more relaxed but still not much better as evidenced by my performance at Firestone. Of course FriendBOMBER makes some mean ass courses. LOL. Anyway, maybe you need to look at your own game as I did mine and figure out where your weaknesses are and what you have to work on. That's how you'll get better. It's my plan anyway. Good luck!

Thanks a lot Wag. My main problems in the game are very linked. Sidewind and sidebreaking putts. I fail to calculate the effects of the wind in terms of the line of the shot. I usually get the right distance, but I fail the line. That leaves a lot of sidebreaking putts, as most of the greens are sloped from back to front or viceversa. In that scenario I barely make a putt of more than 6 ft. First, I tried to adjust my distance, and for that, the loft of the clubs is becoming very useful. Now I'm more focused in the wind, as for the putts, in fact I'm pretty decent, I don't use to miss the putts by much.
Thanks a lot wag!

I've been making a lot of 19 and 20 ft putts lately out of necessity because I'm so bad at getting close to the pin. But not enough to score well and not enough to make up for all the bad drives into the rough or sand. If my long game was better, I'd be doing a lot better.

Im nervous about this week. I tried a practice round last night and the greens are pretty tough. Putting is the worst part of my game and the greens are very fast every which way. Ill just have to aim and hope for the best haha. I also seemed to develop a nasty hook which I hope goes away tonight when I fire up the first round. Nice looking course though, good job designer!
