Well, since I'm the new poster boy for optimism, here's my pep talk to everybody who might be feeling a little down right now.
For the current tourney, I shot +27. I'm currently in 53rd out of 64 places posted with my great big 80 to be posted tomorrow for round 3. I'm fighting just to make top 70 so I don't get a demotion strike on my way to Class Z where all the really stinko players are.
Guess what?
Whatever.
I love this game. I love the thrill of still trying for aces on those par 3s. I love flopping out of the rough for pars or even birdies. I love the new courses each week. It's the most fun part of this game, getting to play so many courses and never run out. And I still get a kick out of John's "wooden" commentary. Guy cracks me up with his "I wish the putt would just drop" as he sounds like he's ready to cry. LOL.
You will never find a more fun game than TGC. And on those weeks where you manage to put it all together (I made top 30 once) it feels so great. And no matter how bad you do, there is always next week to do better. That's the way I look at it. So I stunk up this tourney. I've put it behind me and next I'm going to do better.
And look at it this way. If you weren't doing this, is there really something else you'd rather be doing? Not me. Heck, I wish there were one day tourneys so I could play a different one every single day. Right now, I play my 4 rounds and have to wait a whole week to play some more. I've resorted to playing Seasons just to keep from going crazy.
Remember what Tim Allen said in Galaxy Quest
"Never give up. Never surrender."
I live by those words.
Bring on the next SOB death trap.

Wags, I think you managed to offend every player on CC-Z in one post. Either that, or they are scurrying for Speed Stick right now thinking nobody noticed their aroma.
But I digress.
So, I enjoyed being here for a single week and a single week it will be. Firestone ate my sack lunch as I ended up right where I would be if I had not played a round. Even Steven.
It was a great visit, but now I return to my well-known CC-E Tour, already in progress. I would like to say I will return, but I am not too sure about that. Thanks for having me but the food sucked.

Well, I'll probably be joining them all shortly (and rightfully so) so if I've offended anyone, that bulls eye was planted squarely on my own forehead. I'm probably never going to get much better than I am right now but I've accepted that and will simply enjoy this game for what it is. And with that, I will head to the men's room to get my own speed stick.

Well, I am currently in 72nd place. However, there are two golfers ahead of me with only 1 or 2 rounds posted and they were pretty high scores so I am guessing they probably quit after that. If they get DQ'd, does that move me up 2 spots? If it does, I would just make the top 70 for this one.

I'm sitting T12 right now...missed the exemption by what looks like 1 stroke...oh well..I wouldn't have deserved it anyway

Congrats on the exemptions guys, now get the hell out of D so I can finish higher up the list lol.
How I avoided a strike with a +2 is beyond me but I'll take it.
Got to say to who ever has been picking the last couple/few courses you have done a great job. Thank you.
Some may not be the kind of courses I would casually play, aesthetically or what not. But to see the winning scores in the -20's and not -40 has been refreshing. I may finish lower on the leader board with some of these courses, but I also know it's a reasonable possibility that I can get that one tournament that puts me in contention. I'm just not consistent enough to shoot -10 four rounds in a row in a tournament setting.
The designers of these courses have done a great job too by not tricking up the courses with ridiculous blind shots, trees and hazards in the way etc. It's all been on the greens. And not overly hard greens, just tough enough to make one work for a birdie and punish you if you mis judge your putt. Well done and thanks as well.

Well, I finished 67th and avoided another strike.
I'll take it.
