Nice looking course expect the greens. Probably the worst looking greens I have played on any tour since joining TGC Tours. This was an extremely easy course littered with bizarre greens/flag placement, which were provided to try and make it harder. We need length and doglegs with trees to force shot making IMO. Shot -44 with rather average playing. Please...please...please can we bring on the harder courses that are not simply tricked up
Wondering what you mean by bizarre greens/flags on this course?
My thought on this course was the greens were far too easy, if anything.
Not saying they were hard, just ugly. Some areas were like a little roller coaster (maybe you avoided the strange spots). Anyway my take as always is I prefer harder courses with length that require shotmaking over short pitches. I think I had one attempted putt over 15 feet for the entire tournament.

As the current clubhouse leader, I will hold my tongue on my thoughts re the course and the conditions. But yes, I agree with the sentiment here. Let's get some tough courses going! I'm happy to suggest a few. I think a winning score of -40 should be the absolute maximum (or minimum??).

I hear what you are saying, but I think the first part of this season got a little screwed up. I don't know the exact process, but they test out and make suggestions to the course creators far in advance of making it an official selection for a tournament. If the winds played as they previously did, this course would have been a lot more challenging naturally. I was never a fan of the 'old' wind in the game because 17-20mph felt like a hurricane, which wasn't natural either. But now it all feels too easy. My game is being exposed because I can't be that precise consistently. I'd love some harder courses too. I'd love to see an event where right around par was the cut line. I just don't think it was intentional to have a series of easy ones in a row. The game just isn't playing the same as it once did.

I shot 62 in the 2nd round, which included 2 bogies from trying to get to cute with some of the tucked pins. I'm sitting at -24 through 2 rounds, and I am expecting the cut to be right around there, so might have to wait and see if I'm playing the next few days.... not a position I've had to be in yet on this tour.

I think the gameplay leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to difficulty guys. There's a fine line between hard and unjustly hard. Anyone that's new to the game should play through the 'TGCTOURS PGA Season 1 - 2015' tour. All the courses from season 1 on the PGA and it starts with courses as easy as this one and then halfway through you'll get the difficult courses like Bison Run Tour and Fire Rock Ranch Tour. See if you like them. Ouch is all I say. Be careful what you wish for :-)

Finished the tournament shot -12,-12,-11,-16 for a total of -51 won't even be top 20 or I might miss the cut haha still though I am delighted with round 4 puts me 3rd on the ps4 leaderboard :-) good luck all yet to play

Funny you should mention that tour, I played a couple rounds on it a few days ago and the winds were a minimum of 15 up to 23mph. Birdies were tough to find! Ever since the wind patch, that's the first time I've seen the wind consistently so high. Go figure. On those first couple courses which have some big elevation changes, it makes for quite a test! Probably not the way they played last year though from looking at the scores.
People are too quick to rip into courses for being tricked up, especially the greens. IMO As a rule of thumb, as long as on average there are more pars on a hole than bogeys, it isn't "unfair". How could it be? I can't think of many holes where that is the case.
I used to play a lot of Trackmania (an online racing game), and there were some "famous" tracks which would take 50 or 75 tries to be able to complete without crashing. It was accepted as part of the game and part of learning curve when you played a new track. There was a lot of satisfaction to be gained from finding the sweet spots and setting a record time. Granted, it's a different type of game, and more suited to that extreme difficulty - the puzzle in it was part of the appeal).

On exemption for my first event on the Web.com tour. Seeing some of the scores it looks like I picked a good week for it lol Round 1: 61 (-11) Round 2: 61 (-11) Round 3: 60 (-12) Round 4: 61 (-11) I was surprised with the relative ease of this course, especially the amount of short par 4's which required PW or less for an approach. Hopefully -22 is enough to sneak under the cut line and earn my full tour card

I'd say the next three courses are in difficulty Leelanau Bluffs - Medium Drayton Lakes - Easy Baja Classic - Hard Hopefully you get a bit of wind to make things harder. Not holding my breath though.
The wind better be above 8-10mph for Leelanau or it is going to be the same. I just played a practice on Web A and shot a -15 on the first go.
I will say this, if the winds are up a little, I could see it being a little tougher. I love the greens in that you really have to know where to land the ball. Hardly any rollout and greens are slow. Putting is pretty easy on this one.

Practice didn't go well as per usual lately and I thought I had no chance of making the cut so I just went for it. Great start with 5 birdies in a row, I almost birdied the 6th too, missed by inches. It's ranked as the hardest hole in-game and 4th hardest in the tournament so far so I wasn't too concerned. I was -7 after 8 but even then I didn't feel comfortable. It's not a good feeling knowing that every single par costs you big time. Especially on par 5's. The 9th hole par 5 is when it all started to unravel. I hooked a shot into the bunker and could only make par. My confidence was hit and I only made 1 birdie on the next 4 holes after that. 8 under after 12 was much better than I had done in practice but after my good start it was still disappointing. An eagle on 14 should have turned things around but it didn't, I only made one birdie in the last 3 holes. For me a very good -11 really but another round like that and I've still probably not done enough to make the cut. By the way, the green on the 8th hole, certainly for pin placement 1 is horrible! I 5 putted on one practice round, luckily managed to get it in first time when it mattered.
