Well..this is definitely the toughest course we've seen in the CC tiers this season so far. I've managed a -6 (66) twice..both in 10-14mph winds. I haven't played it yet in anything calm..so we'll see how the week goes. A few tough long par 4's...they'll eat people up if they can't hit the green in regulation in the wind.
How ya shootin' at Valgrind boys??

Yeah some long par 4 and 5's. Greens are slow though and not too slopey so puttings ok as long as you're reasonably close. I scored a one bogey 66 (-6). Course should be renamed "Dailygrind"

Hi Jim, on a 4/8 mph easy wind I scored a 66 Yesterday I had my first CC-Z round @ Vallentuna (a "good for my level" -9) than I was stupidly nervous starting the second round and I missed a few birds options (for a total of maybe 3 inches ) so I stopped -2 after 9 holes. I will try to complete the tournament within tomorrow so I can focus already @ Valgrind !!! Have a nice day Roberto

I don't find this course too difficult, yeah those long par 4's are killer in the wind, yesterday was windy. After not being able to get anything going yesterday I think I did finally pull off a -9. That 1'st hole pin location is a toughy though, I wind up in the rough or bunker on the right more often than not. My personal preference and not a slam at the course or designer, I don't like that theme at all, just don't care for the colors and trees. Be glad to get that tournament over with.
The next one t St. Lorin whatever its called is a tough course though, love it, lots of fun shots. But that's next weeks discussion lol.

See...funny...I like this course..but can't stand the theme of St Lorin. I don't find Valgrind overly hard...just harder than the par 3 courses we've had thus far. Scores should be more around normal. Normal meaning you won't have someone in CC-Z shooting -30

I agree about the scores. Nothing like having what you (me) think is a good tournament, and watch the scores come in through the week and see there are 30 people ahead of you at -45. Kind of takes the wind out of your sails.
There are 2 in Z I would love to see get -30, win and get out of there, they have been here since before I joined in January who were active on the forums, competitive in the old Champions tour and now have been relegated to to Z for a long time. I keep watching their progress hoping they can get out of there and start to climb up and maybe get some renewed vigor for the game. I miss them on the forums.
Talk about relegated to the bottom, I have to play my second round of True Sim today and get it over with, I went in yesterday for my 1'st round not having played the course at all, that was a mistake lol, +16. Not looking forward to this lol

I can't seem to get any sort of rhythm going on this course. Not looking forward to this tournament at all. As it looks right now I'll be lucky to hit double digits for my total.

Was -8 up until around the 16'th hole, not sure of actual hole, its the one where you can play the fairway for the next hole on the right. Had a 10mph crosswind so I decided to take that alternate route since I saw some ghost by the name of phlyerphanatic31 do it.
What a god awe full mistake, green now on the other side of a line of trees. Well, clubbed up and just decided to power through, water, creek down the middle, took drop, same position, water again--start button--end game lol.
Can't get anything going myself today. Oh well, have a week to learn this course so now its just trying things just see what I can and can't do.

Once I did manage a par though

If the wind is up for this course next week, it is gonna be a lottttt of fun haha. Seriously deceiving, it doesn't look to difficult as you play; but the coupling of the length and pin placements makes this really, really tough. I played a couple of bogey free practice rounds there in pretty low winds and shot -7 and -10 and I was pretty pleased with that. Even if the winds stay low for the tourney (Ha!) I would take 4 x -8 or -9 next week in a heartbeat. More practice needed D:
Also hole 17 can just gtfo, the pin placement makes it pretty much impossible to attack. SO annoying!

Hmmm.. Best I've mustered up in practice Is -8. Twice . Obviously much longer.. N not so many birdie op's. Few places , where you just playing for par. Cause there is no possible way to get close. Think if a 16+ wind hits here.. Gonna get tough. Few dodgy lies out there also. Got to pay attention to that. Definately weird after the birdie fest at vallentuna. My guess - four rounds of -7 gets u top ten. Or maybe -7 -7 -8 -8 Definately the guys with hot putters n chipping going to make the difference here.

I've hit a brick wall on this course...and it's battering my in game handicap all to hell. If I can put together 4 rounds of 67 or 68 I'll lick my wounds and move on. This one's gonna separate the men from the boys

Good for the confidence as well!

Got a -13 under with an ace in the round. winds were between 4 and 8 mph. Strange I've played the game every day since September and only got 1 ace and managed to get 2 yesterday within an hour
