Ok time to start the thread. I got a couple practice rounds on the Thursday version and after a very solid 58 I decided to give it a go for the tourney to keep the mojo flowing. I'm OK with my first round - a decent 62 (-10) to start things up. Could've been better. I really screwed up on hole #7 hitting the trees on my second shot, from the tall rough landing too far from the pin on the green (45feet or something) and 2-putting for bogey. Gonna work harder to improve my next rounds I got the sub-60 round in my game on this course, I feel it. I just need the composure. Good luck everyone. I think the course is on the fairly easy side but if you underestimate it, and just play the whatever/mindless golf, you could get into troubles.

Nice first round, Andrea. Keep it up and you'll be in the running.
My front 9 on my first round was one of the worst rounds I've ever played in TGC. I shot a -1 over the front 9 and then a -3 over the back 9. What was frustrating for me was that I was trying something new this week. Instead of jumping straight into the web.com tournament, I played the CC tournament as a warm-up and to see whether I would be facing any technical glitches. In 72 holes in the CC course, I got maybe 3 shots between 95-99% and only one premature 0 foot putt. Shot in the -40's I believe.
Then I figured that I could start the web course right away as it seemed that I was having no technical issues at all. What do I do? First shot is a 94% shot that finds its way into the water. I salvaged the hole with a bogey, but every other hole on the front 9 was something similar. All and all, I think I ended up with half a dozen sub 90% shots and a dozen shots between 90% and 99%. Ended up with a -4 first round and I think a -7 second round. This will be the first time in four months on TGCT that I don't play the third and fourth rounds.
So immediately afterwards, I loaded up the PGA tournament and played 72 holes there. I ended up with a -35 overall (-19 after 2) with ZERO sub 90% shots and only a handful of 95-99% shots. So much for my idea of trying to use the other tours as an indicator of whether or not I'm going to have technical issues on web.com. There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why I am having these issues. I ordered a new mouse on Amazon last night to replace my 9 year old G5, but I really don't think that's the issue.
So apologies to my newly minted rival, Jason Schwartz. Wish I could have given you a better challenge this week.
With Fallout 4 coming out next Tuesday, I think it may be time for a one or two week break from this game.

This game is so mentally draining that you couldn't just look away and recover from a bad sequence. Honestly I admire your persistence playing 72 holes on PGA just after a tough break like that. Especially cause was not your fault at all. Could this be the time to move from mouse to gamepad? Hope you'll solve this issue; you definitely deserve a spot at least in the high ranks here

Yeah... I suppose I should go to the gamepad. I actually did use the gamepad for a good two weeks when the mouse patch came out. But after revisiting the mouse, I found that they had fixed the mouse issues. That was around the time I got the prize on the CC finale.
In the first three weeks of Web.com, I didn't have many technical issues. Almost missing cut on the first two weeks was my own poor play, nothing to do with technical issues which is something that I can stomach.
And thank you for the kind words.

When I played on PC last TGCT season, basically my all CC-A tournaments more or less, I used to look up at your scores a lot (now I'm on PS4 so I don't have your score on the game leaderboard, don't get me wrong ). Cause no matter the course - no matter practice or official round you were always couple of strokes better

Cause no matter the course - no matter practice or official round you were always couple of strokes better Glad to have provided you with a decent ghost then. Why did you switch away from the PC? As old as my PC is (8 years), I can't imagine switching over to an inferior CPU/GPU in the consoles. Never really used ghosts - I can't focus with another ball around I just thought "that's the point of reference to get to the next level", that's all About the switch: for once I didn't felt 100% comfortable with the PS4 gamepad hooked to the PC (can't really explain why). Then I got couple of friends playing TGC on PS4 and with one of them we play True Sim Tour rounds together in alternate mode. Besides @1080p (which is the max resolution of my TV) The Golf Club, without maxing everything out and loosing fluidity to me looks about the same on PC and PS4 (frame rate a part of course). On the PC monitor (which is not that good) @ let's say 1366*768 and so on you can tell the difference....but the screen itself is more than twice small

So apologies to my newly minted rival, Jason Schwartz. Wish I could have given you a better challenge this week. With Fallout 4 coming out next Tuesday, I think it may be time for a one or two week break from this game. That stinks. I don't keep track of updates with the game, but the last couple of weeks I've had a number of WTF moments. I didn't have the 90-94% power as much the first 2 rounds (only twice) but I had a crazy squirt on a par 3 (2 mph in my face, hit straight shot, 40 yards left of the green). But the one that I can't figure out is the uphill putts. Something weird is going on there, though I don't want to use it as an excuse. I should record it I suppose. I had an 8ft putt one inch up hill, which I would normally play as a 10 foot putt. Quite possible I could have hit a bit strong, but it went 25 feet and I missed the bogey coming back AND the next one uphill again - 4 putt double bogey. Mentally I was done after that. Again, don't want to blame the game necessarily but I just didn't have these problems before. I went -10 and -6. I'm actually more down about the -10 because I missed 3 five footers and a 10 foot straight putt that went left somehow. Round 2 I was 5 under after 6, strung together some frustrating pars, then my 4-putt double bogey and a bunch of scrambling to close it out. The course has a few challenges but I would expect the same scoring as this week, if not better. I'll miss the cut for sure this week. Might take a break for Fallout4 as well

I am starting to get frustrated with the game (just a little). I had a personal best first round with a -15 (57). I decided, well I am hot, I will continue. I shot a -7 (65) in round 2 and then a -5 (67) in round 3. I had about 10 94% shots and about 5 putts from 3-5 ft. go right over the top of the hole.
So here I sit at -27 with one round to play and my motivation level is currently sitting at "I don't care."
Good luck everyone.

How I feel with you guys struggling with those mouse power swings. Right up until the start of this season I was pulling hairs in frustration over the number of shots reaching less than 100% causing all sorts of trouble. I still have a shot like that on occasion but in general my new swing has fixed it. To share a bit of experience - I cannot tell how to swing because we all do differently but on the mental and physical side what worked for me was this:
I focussed for a while on how I felt the physical moves, the pace etc. when I moved the mouse each time I had a fine solid 100% shot When setting up the shot I always recall how that 100% shot felt like in mouse, hand and body movement When I hit, I do it relaxed and confident that I am ready and will hit a perfect shot (wish it was that easy haha)
If I have a less than 100% shot I do not focus on what I did wrong - instead I focus on recalling how it felt on all those 100% shots and focus on doing the same physical movements before I do the regular line up for the next shot
If I experience 2 or 3 less than 100% shots within a few holes I exit and reboot my PC because I think there may be technical issues that may be of influence here rather than the game not working. Anyway, so far a reboot seems to improve performance for me.
Best of luck to you all

Well I put it mostly together this week and am hoping maybe with the decent winds throughout, I might be able to squeak out a top 10. Danandsons got me by one and was lights out so good on you sir.
-12, -10, -11, -8 for -41
The course was great, I think, for the web. Especially with 7-9 mph winds (which is what I mostly saw), getting your approaches close on the contoured greens was tough.
Overall, we're 5 weeks in and I'm happy with making all the cuts. This week should give me my best result so hopefully I can build on that to earn an exemption soon (never know I guess, -41 MIGHT be enough this week).

I like this course.. but if there is wind, its not going to like me.. having a hard time going low here. Might actually miss my first cut. Good thing I have a few days to work at it.

The pro tours are not good for me because of how often I don't do too well in at least one of the opening rounds. I shot 67, 66, 61, 61 for a total of -33 but my first two rounds I sit at -11 which probably won't make the cut. Third round I got a hole in one and almost an Albatross, ball rolled right over the hole. Had another hole-in-one in the fourth round as well so it would be a shame not to even make the cut but my putting continues to struggle. I have to set my pc settings to low which makes the putting grid hard to read the breaks properly.

After a great opening two rounds of 59,61 sitting at -24.I followed it up with a terrible 68 round 3 and lost about 7 shots to danandsons and staypuft and I was out of it then pretty much. Well done though guys very consistent scoring. Round 4 wasn't much better shot a 64 for a total of -36 I guess it's not too bad but I'll lose sleep over round 3.what a kick in the balls that was haha.I expect there to be a lot of great scores coming in this week. Best of luck everyone yet to play :-)
