I'm not sure I'm supposed to start this thread but I thought I'd go ahead. Wheels have officially come off for me. Awful. I'm not sure I should try to work through it or just take a break. I practiced this course a lot and had my strategy set with the tiny postage stamp greens, where I wanted to be off the tee, which side of the greens to attempt to land, etc. Nothing went to plan. I lipped putts and chips constantly. Doubt my GIR was even 50% with everything just rolling off the greens. Winds got up around 14 on some holes. Rain on the Friday course, which I don't even know if that affects anything - didn't seem to slow the ball down at all. Saturday and Sunday course pin placements gave me a ton of issues. But I don't think the course was the problem. I just flat out crapped my way all around this thing. The hole felt tiny. Every tree scared me. I miscalculated a dozen times with the wind and hit traps. I was either short of the green or bouncing it short and watching it roll right off the back. Complete stink fest. I should have walked away on the first hole. Good drive and decent approach on the par 5. I had a 60 yard pitch remaining and went back and forth deciding what to do...trying do some math in my head. I decided to loft a pitch, but I didn't realize I left it on lob wedge and hit my pitch about 30 yards. Ugh. Should have walked away. Pretty sure a missed cut for me. I claimed that last week but this time around I really felt like I am losing my grip on the game. I've never been that good but whoa...this was bad. I'm really thinking I don't even belong on this tour to be honest. I should go to CC-C and have to work my way up again. Apologies to my newly minted rivals. I'm not even close to challenging you guys. 67 65 69 73 (+1 my gosh) Tough luck yaters, you were killing it on the practice rounds. I think people are being far too negative, this is a tough course... Haven't played yet but I think cut will be around -6 similar to Ballantine. With some of the top guys out in exemption, should be wide open for the rest of us

I found this a tough course to be honest, my GIR for first two rounds will be pretty dire reading, found myself -3 then hit a double bogey on the 9th to set me back. I've finished first two rounds sitting at -10 (-6 -4) which isn't great but I don't expect really low scores this week, the course and greens really punish you for any mistakes as I found out to my cost. We ain't gonna score great every week on every course guys, some courses will suit some far more than others. It's a long season ahead and there will be plenty of ups and downs for all of us. ⛳️ Kenny, I played with your ghost and double bogeyed the same hole as you. R1- 70 (-2) with a double bogey and some other mistakes I can't grumble really. R2 - 65 (-7) with birdies and bogies galore this will be a colourful scorecard. This should have been a 62. A relatively simple birdie putt went off the green and I made bogey. This happened twice. Damn greens. Tough course, but it's nice to have a mix on the tour. I think -9 after 2 rounds will make the cut. I'll be gutted if it doesn't, felt like I played out of my skin. That -7 is a lovely score Chris when you would have known you needed to post a decent score that round, well played pal, hope we'll make cut now, I think it will be good enough. I'll still play last two rounds regardless.

I've been pretty down about my performances lately and have been whining about it too much I think. These are tough courses by design. Some guys here are continuing to improve and performing well, which is how it should be with the chance to move up to the big show.
I had about 4-5 hours today with my wife and kids out to play some more for fun. I decided to play this month's Q-school just to see if what I felt was true - I'm not getting better and have flatlined. And I thought these tougher courses on the web.com tour are exposing that.
I ended up going -31 over the 6 courses. That would put me comfortably in the PGA or EURO tours. HA! I realize the Q-school is designed as a starting point with the assumption the players will refine their game over time. I think I was right around even par last time (maybe 3 or 4 under). The courses are still really hard with the crazy winds, slopes, and narrow landing areas. But they didn't feel harder than what we are playing here. I bet if we held an unofficial tournament on this month's Q-school there would be some crazy good scores from you guys.
I think practicing too much has hurt me. I read someone earlier saying the same thing. I'm just going to chill out, remember this is for fun, and enjoy the tournaments and community. Even going to try next week cold without seeing the course.

I hear you yaters, practice too much and you get burnt out. I've just played what will be my only round of practice for next week's and hit a -12, so its at least relaxing to know there's something a bit easier coming up!

Third and fourth round completed today (providing -10 makes the cut) third round was absolutely terrible where I could do nothing right and played badly, +2 early on, managed to get it back to -1. Fourth round was much better with a -8 to finish tourney -19. Nothing to shout about but decent enough scores on a tough course where I felt I struggled. Enjoyable none the less!! ⛳️

Kenny that -8 on round 4 was really really good.
I scrapped and battled to -2 on round 3 easily breaking the course record for bunkers hit. I was pleased with the -2 and sat at -11.
Round 4 started with a 3 putt double bogey followed by a bogey. I tried to fight back but only got to Even par for the day.
That leaves me, if I made the cut, at -11 for the tournament.
I can't say I didn't enjoy this tournament, I did. But at times I found it really tough. If I do make the cut though I'll take consolation in making my first 3 cuts on the web tour this season.

Eight under on the fourth may be one of the best scores there. Those winds were a bit of a surprise for most of us.

After a top 10 debut in week 1 of the Web Tour, I came out flat last week (I love that idea - I don't think my coach did enough to get me ready to play!) and just barely made the cut by 1 stroke. I finished stronger and wound up tied for 40th. So, I had no idea what to expect this week. I only practiced Oktoberfest twice - I didn't want to burn out, I have a tendency to overthink out there.
My first round was a 63 and followed that up with a 66 (a double on 17 while 3 putting from 4 feet!) I started round 3 but just couldn't keep a rhythm going with a bad par on 1 and a bogie on 2. I got it back to even by the 5th and decided to take a break. I would think that -15 will be safely in and I will finish up the last 2 rounds later in the week. It sounds like round 4 is real challenging so it will be real interesting to see the final scores.
Good luck!

Well let me start off by saying that I did not like this tournament at all. I can understand lower scoring tourneys where grinding is at a premium. But the slopes on those greens, combined with the speed, combined with some of the pin placements, did not make for fun golf rounds. R1 - 69 (-3) R2 - 69 (-3) R3 - 66 (-6) R4 - 70 (-2)
Total -14
Probably not making the cut with a -6 after 2 rounds. We will see. Just happy its over.

Well said! I think I forgot my goal of just making cuts and trying to get more consistent. So far I'm consistently missing putts, hitting bunkers, and yelling at the TV. Small steps

Yaters, I'll be honest... I had to have a word with myself after that Double bogey, bogey start in round 4..
I said to Kenny when we got our Web Cards I'll be really pleased just to make cuts early on in this season. I scraped through right on the cut line in week 1 and I think I'll be facing something similar here in week 3. I'm going to be talking about that top 10 finish in week 2 for many weeks to come I think. Ha I've found it tough up here in the web.. Some unreal players here!

Felt confident heading in but really struggled on the front 9 in round 1. Fairways I found in practice I was missing. Obviously on this course you are screwed if that happens. That said, even with bad putting I grinded out a -3 followed by a -7. Not worried about the cut...but am worried about my last 2 rounds after some substandard play.

Finished up. Head scratcher 3rd round. I don't remember ever being that frustrated playing the game. I finished well though so all is good.
-10 (62) -5 (67) -1 (71) -8 (64)
-24 total
