I think I might ask to be moved down to CC when I can. Not enjoying Web too much, found this course great in practice but chuck in high winds and its completely sapped the fun from it for myself. Probably won't input my scores either this week, -8 won't make the cut.

Btw, I'm not aware of when I can ask for demotion. Do I email Commish or have to wait it out? I'd only played three tournaments on CC before lucking my way to promotion in the end of season event, so I don't feel right at this level yet.

-8 is a half decent start Chris, in with a shout for making the cut. Try Harvest Hills Golf Club out (next weeks course). May be more your cup of tea. You finished 16th first week on a tough Ballyntyne course, you're more than capable at this level. Keep at it pal.

I've just given up on this last round tbh, completely imploded. I know its my mentality at times. Just three hard, tight courses in a row has pushed my limit a bit, will check out next weeks.

If you were 16th on Ballyntyne National, you are way too skilled to be in CC. If you really want top drop down to CC to be more competitive, however, I think the rule is that if you miss 3 consecutive cuts or more, you can request the demotion. If you miss cut this week, then just give Harvest Hills a chance before you make that leap.

I wanted to make those Sunday pins tough for you guys but combine that with 16 mph winds and that's just brutal. Good luck everyone! (Muahaha) I'm guessing you looked the official PGA rule book for pin placement and wondered "How can I push the boundaries of these rules as much as possible and still get these pin placements accepted?"

Right, apologies for my rants earlier guys, was just frustration boiling over. I hit a total of -10 after going -32 in practice. I can't blame the course, its fantastic. This weeks tournament has taught me three things:
Don't play my rounds just because I can. Play them when I feel ready to.
Don't panic after a bogey and let it cloud the next few holes. I did that way too much and its cost me at least eight on my score, missing simple six footers because I'm not focused.
Finally, don't practice too much! Missing the cut last week led to me playing way too many rounds on this course, which has pretty much meant I've already achieved my best scores before the tourney even began!
So again, apologies for blowing my top a little, I'll stick with the Web and come back fighting next week. Will submit this weeks dismal score if -8 will get the cut, which is very doubtful.
Good luck to you all, especially on the front 9 of the final round!

Just how much do you practice, Chris? I think I practice way too much. Most weeks it's 15-20 practice rounds. This last week was closer to 10 because I signed up to be a Ranger and checked out 4 or 5 other courses.
My practice rounds usually tell me about what score I'm going to expect in the real thing. I averaged -4 on Oktoberfest, so I was shooting to get a bit better than that during the tournament. So I was pretty content with my overall -23. On The Red October GC&CC I averaged -7 or -8, so -34 was another score I was happy with. Even my horrid Ballyntyne National score (-14 I believe) was foreshadowed by the myriad of -3's and -4's in practice.

I normally play about two rounds! This week is the first time I've put in real practice due to not making the cut. Played two practice tournaments, -32 and -26 with nine holes to go on my final round. Plus playing the courses individually a few times.
It's made me realise that I play worse like that. I can go on a course I've not played and hit -10/-11 most of the time. Over thinking and pressure do not mix!

I found this a tough course to be honest, my GIR for first two rounds will be pretty dire reading, found myself -3 then hit a double bogey on the 9th to set me back. I've finished first two rounds sitting at -10 (-6 -4) which isn't great but I don't expect really low scores this week, the course and greens really punish you for any mistakes as I found out to my cost. We ain't gonna score great every week on every course guys, some courses will suit some far more than others. It's a long season ahead and there will be plenty of ups and downs for all of us. ⛳️

He obliterates course records in practice and then continues to obliterate them in the tournaments. So most of the time I'm playing my multitude of practice rounds, I'm trying to match Jared's first or second round score. When you were talking about shooting -32 in practice and that the winner would be closer to -40, I was shocked. Maybe everyone around me was improving and I wasn't.

I normally follow Nantez and Gavlaar as they're usually around my level. -40 is very possible, but with those winds hitting big numbers at times, I doubt it now. Jared will probably do it tbh, hes more machine than man!

R1- 70 (-2) with a double bogey and some other mistakes I can't grumble really. R2 - 65 (-7) with birdies and bogies galore this will be a colourful scorecard. This should have been a 62. A relatively simple birdie putt went off the green and I made bogey. This happened twice. Damn greens. Tough course, but it's nice to have a mix on the tour. I think -9 after 2 rounds will make the cut. I'll be gutted if it doesn't, felt like I played out of my skin.

Played this for practice and it was challenging in the winds. Finished -29.
Good luck.
