I came across the web.com guys again on the eighteenth. They were posing on the rocks for the web.com speedo edition of the web.com Christmas Callander. Cheers for that one Dan, Kenny Chris & Dean in speedos will forever haunt my dreams I did feel somewhat inadequate, posing in speedos with Chris standing beside me to be honest, I think he'll make the front cover to sell it to the ladies!! Remember Linford Christie's lunch box?

It's my nieces birthday today. Before I started she phoned me and said " I know you had a bad couple of days but today is a special day, make it special for the two of us. Go out there and play like you never played before and do it for me. It will be the best birthday present ever. I know you can do it uncle Dan, I believe in you. " Isn't that nice, my loving family just heaped a ton more pressure on me and what about the bloody 60 euro I already spent her present, could she not have called before I spent the damn money, people are so inconsiderate. Well I suppose I better play well now and I started well with a birdie on the first hole, this was going to be a good day. My first time getting a birdie on the opening hole and while I only managed par on the second I got another first time birdie on the third for the best start I have had for the tournament. I surprised even myself with a excellent approach on the fifth, it was the type of shot I usually mess up 97 yards, 13 mph tail wind, this time though, I left my self with a tap in birdie putt and my confidence was growing. Then I came to the sixth, and yet again I putted off the green with just a gentle tap. I think the hole is haunted, maybe a golfer died of a heart attack or something as he missed a birdie and now his restless spirit pushes golf balls off the green, yet again I dropped a shot here, still better than the double yesterday. Nearly had a heart attack myself the next hole as my par putt veered away from the hole, luckily it crept in the side. I finished the back nine with a tap in birdie. No doubt, playing better than the last two days, maybe I should hire my niece as a motivational coach.
A poor start to the back nine with a wind misjudgment, the ball did not carry as far as I thought it would, then my chip went all of three yards with out ever leaving the rough, bogey. I got that shot back on the next hole, for a change I played into the wind, using it to slow the ball down, a shot I don't always play well but it worked this time. Smart use of the wind on the next hole brought another birdie. I just needed to stay calm and I might have a decent round. I did not stay calm, a dropped shot on the next hole, one I can't even explain, a eagle was possible a bogey was the result. A couple of pars followed before I hit a tree on sixteen, I could not recover, back to two under. A chip in eagle on the next hole recovered those earlier dropped shots. My first eagle of the tournament on a course where there are eagles to be had. It was nice to get one, not lost all my golfing skills yet and with a birdie finish it brought a little respectability to my scorecard.
That was a strange round, I felt like I played better than the past two days and yet there was four bogeys. Seven birdies and a eagle showed I can play but silly mistakes and a ghost cost me, still, it made for a entertaining round. I ran into town to get my money back for my nieces present and then gave her a call to let her know how it went, I am sure she would have been anxious to find out. Her teacher was a bit of a pain about it, saying I should not phone the school unless it was a emergency but I finally got to talk to Ella. I told her I played really well, made some errors but happy enough with my play. When she asked me how many goals I scored, there was a stunned silence, she thought I had been playing Fifa. I hate Fifa, I suck at Fifa more than golf. When I told her I was playing golf she just laughed and with a voice dripping with sarcasm told me she was very proud that I could hit a little ball with a stick and she would be up later for her present. God dammit, now I have to head to town again.

Great update again Dan! Hopefully those 7 birds and the eagle will recover your score well.
I stepped up and played my final two rounds last night after the cracking Arsenal and Bayern Munich contest. Before the match I played a few practice rounds as I preempted I would play my 'weekend' after the game.
The third round I struggled dearly with the winds. Making 2 or 3 poor shots after finding heavy rough and the bunker meant I made 2 bogeys before slightly recovering the situation and making a -7 for the round.
Going straight into round 4 was much easier. The wind was significantly less damaging and I powered my way around the front 9, being -5 thru 5 before taking the turn at -7 I believe. The back nine was slightly tougher but I continued to play well, finishing off at -13 for the round and -44 for the championship.
So my scores overall were:
-11 -13 -7 -13 ------ -44
Can't help but feel my third round has cost me any chance of winning the competition, now it's just a case of finding out if I've made top 10. I think I'm going to be biting my nails until the close!

Four good rounds there, the wind on the third was tricky but 7 under a good score in those conditions. I'll be surprised if you do not make the top with that. The wait can be nerve racking. I remember my top finishes, checking the score boards constantly to see if someone who has not tied off yet had over taking me. I never managed that win, a second and third being my best finishes but it is both fun and exciting waiting.

Nice score Lineker. You should be top 5 with that score. Thanks I think I was 7th on the CC leaderboard on PS4. So I think someone will also be in flight B. There were scores of -46 and lower if I remember correctly so I'm not holding out much hope of scooping the Billy Mays cup haha

Good lord Chris "lunchbox" Lewis! Imagine my surprise as I check back in to the Challenge Circuit to have a look at the forum. It was mainly to read how Dan had played on round 3 but I discover my trouser package is being discussed. What you all saw was actually a hernia caused by me holding up pretty much every web player on the leaderboard last week. Better performance this week though so I'm thinking the hernia will be gone in time for next weeks Sponsored Swimsuit Carwash.

So there is a good chance you will be high on leader board. Its a great score and deserves to be up there.

I got -44 under as well Lineker in CC-B but stupidly decided to input my scores at 7 in morning when hungover and gave my self a 61 in the 2nd round rather than a 60 so will be -43 for me :-(

I wish they could scrap the signing of the card and just take people's scores who have registered to to play. I guess there's a way the less honest among us would try and game the system though... Still a cracking score and I hope you get exemption!!

The first hole has a amazing view, while waiting to tee off. You can look right down over the beachside road, at people relaxing and enjoying themselves, some even taking a moment of their time to cheer on us golfers doing our hardest to impress and improve. So you could imagine my dismay when it was my turn to tee off today to see the entire web.com field having their annual who looks best in speedos contest. I am not going to name names but some of those people should not be wearing shorts in public let alone tight fitting, skimpy speedos and when the flex it part of the contest started, well it put me right off my game, a easy birdie putt missed because of the horrors going through my mind. With howls of laughter ringing in my ears ( they stopped to watch my putt) I moved on to the second tee, I would show them, I would prove to them I am every bit as good and putting my approach within two feet was the perfect way to do it. Sadly, yet again, I made a mess of the third hole, it plays easy, I try to hard and par is the result. Over the next two holes, there was a big improvement in approach accuracy compared to yesterday, the birdie chances were not tap ins but there was chances, I picked up one of those chances and was happy with par for the other. That slope on the sixth caught me out again, it was a gentle putt and yet it still rolled down and off the green, a double bogey was the result when I played to safe to avoid it happening again. I got one of those shots back on eight but between that double and flashbacks to the first hole, my mind was all over the place. The front finished with a birdie to bring me back to two under. The back nine started with the web.com guys jogging along that path in front on the tee box. The, bouncing, the jiggling, it was just to much, another double bogey. After that, all focus was gone, I parred the next three holes before I dropped another on fourteen. I was getting the putting speeds all wrong, but it's been that way for two days. Putts that should have dropped were lipping out, bouncing over the cup and just rolling past. What a difference a few weeks make, a third place forty four under to this. Ah the joys of a golf game, ups and downs.( God, another speedo flashback). I got back to even par on the seventeenth before I came across the web.com guys again on the eighteenth. They were posing on the rocks for the web.com speedo edition of the web.com Christmas Callander. I managed to focus enough to par the hole before I got the hell out of there. As I left, I heard the shout of bay watch run time. So glad I did not see that, going to have enough nightmares as it is, both from my round and what I have seen today. This had me in fits of laughter thanks! reading your post is mking my night shift go fast. i think we must have tee'd off near the same time as i was too mocked by speedo loving freeks but if i had known it was the web.com lads i would have let loose with the driver and aimed for a few conkers

Glad you enjoyed reading my round report. Sometimes they take longer to write than playing the actual round but I do enjoy writing them, all part of the fun for me. I played with your ghost ball during my round. What a difference in accuracy? I am now going to use my amazing detective skills, are you a Spurs fan? Of course the Lineker in your name might have nothing to do with football. Oh, maybe you just like walkers crisps. Just call me Sherlock. Haha - My surname is Lineker. And no..I'm most definitely not a Spurs fan! Going to head out for rounds 3 and 4 tonight (subject to free time before the Arsenal v Bayern Munich of course). Will let you all know how it goes. Hell no! you have Lineker as a surname and your an ar*e fan? jeez what is this world coming to? as you can tell i am a spurs fan. I wish my surname was Lineker
