Personally I think you guys will really like using Borthwick for this one. It's tough at times but I don't think difficulty is the key for this kind of tournament. It's about having opportunities and taking them as well as playing aggressively. If you play aggressively AND well this track will reward you nicely. There are also opportunities that will crop up throughout the different pin sets and you'll end up seeing a swing in momentum and points fairly often. The last few holes (15-18)can provide some drama as well which will be fun! do you drive it on 15? Do you cut to the left of the trees on 17? Do you run up on 16 or do you try and get home in two on 18? I'm pumped to watch! I agree Reeb, it's a great risk/reward track with plenty of options off the tee that really setup for your approach into the smallish tricky greens, A couple of rounds over the multipins and I'm good to go, this should be good!!!

I've never really played practice rounds for events, but being a team event and being one of the weaker links on the team I figured I would do some prep, and have certainly enjoyed it.

Hey Doyley, You said that to win the team needed 15 1/2 points. There are 5 points per round for four rounds, this equals 20. Then 12 points for twelve matches this equals 12. For a total of 32. Wouldn't a winning team need 16 1/2 points? Also what happens if there is a tie?

But don't worry about that. USA will win straight up. ?

It's 5 / 5 / 4 / 4 I believe for the best ball, then the 12 singles. So 30 points total. 15.5 to win.
With the Ryder Cup a team has to win it outright. In the event of a tie, it stays with the previous cup holder.
However, the President's Cup has been declared a tie before (Nicklaus/Player as captains)...so... I dunno.

Ah I forgot the third round was four matches and not 5 .. my bad.

Just a reminder not to start R3 until the matches have been set (can't start until Wednesday). You can take the 1st shot off the tee to keep from getting glitch.

Scott & All- In the rules it says not to start round5 before Friday 10/9, but I'm leaving for a golf vacation Thursday 10/8. I will either have to play my round5 on Wed or Thurs. Sorry to kill a little suspense. Everyone will see the score to beat though
