Sundance Shoals. Nice tropical theme and only my 5th course. I'd love to get some feedback and some players on my course besides myself! ?

Saw your post about Sundance Shoals and thought I'd take a look to help out a fellow designer. I know how hard it is to get any recognition and people playing your courses. WOW, one of the most exciting challenging courses I've yet played. I can already here some of the TGC purists screaming too many slopes and one made my ball go sideways so I don't like it . But for me this is just the sort of challenge I like to take on, and it still plays fairly with some really well thought out holes. Sure it will make you tear your hair out sometimes, ( I four putted the 1st. par 5 after hitting the green in two, my fault not the greens, ) but there are also plenty of birdies to be had if you use your head and play well. I knocked it round in 2 under and I'm far from being one of the top players so there is definitely a good score to be had. Best way to publicise your course is to take some screen shots ( tgctours.proboards.com/thread/117/tutorial-pictures-courses-pc ) and post on the completed courses page ( tgctours.proboards.com/board/9/completed-courses ). My latest course AILSA ISLE is on the first page now. Check it out and give it a play if you have chance. There are lots of excellently designed courses out there now from some really talented designers but but many can be a bit bland and ultra real. Sundance Shoals is neither of those things, it really got my juices flowing and anyone who likes an exciting challenge should give it a go. Well done more of the same please ! .

That's fantastic! I appreciate the feedback and will definitely take some screenshots and post in the new course thread. After playing Tiger Woods for so long I was looking for a new golf game and TGC did not disappoint. What especially got me was the course design aspect, I love it. I'll be sure to check out Ailsa Isle asap! Thanks again.

You can play muniellos of you want. You have up to five versions to pick... The club version has a couple of flaws that have been repaired in the tourney setups

Thnx for the playthrough guys. But to clear up. This is my second non auto generated course. Not my first (New South Flower Golf & CC was first) and yes I DO have highlands theme in the competition. Having trouble getting new ideas this soon I might add

Thanks for the play through video of AILSA ISLE, nice to see you guys knocking it round my course. Feel I have to defend my design ideas a little though. AILSA ISLE is an old style links course and does have some fairly extreme slopes and bunkers as do some real links courses, but every slope bunker and fairway is carefully considered. It's not a course where you can tee it up bash it down the middle knock it on the green and shoot 12 under first time out. However every hole is very much playable if you think about where to hit it from the tee and where to place it on the greens. 2 or 3 of the pins are a little on the tricky side but there is no yellow or red really close to them. I know you guys go out to have fun and entertain the followers, but this is a players course that needs some thought and concentration to get the best from it. There have already been around 7 sub par rounds from the 20 or so plays so far which for me says the difficulty level is about right. I personally prefer a course where you have to work hard to shoot below par instead of one where 10 to 14 under is the norm. Guess I'm in the minority though. I too initially didn't like the links theme that much but after getting into designing with it actually enjoyed it a lot, and the Highlands theme only appeared after I was quite a way into AILSA ISLE. Don't know if I'll ever reach the standards of the top designers though, some of the work out there is really amazing. Be nice to know what systems the top guys work on e.g. fast PC's , X boxes, Playstations, what's favoured for designing ? At the moment I work on a lap top that only meets minimum game requirements and have to use low quality settings so it can be a bit laborious at times. Anyway now I've ranted on for a bit I'll shut up and get on with the new Tropical design, . Try and make this one a bit more appealing to the majority maybe. Cheers again for taking a look at AILSA ISLE.

What is the name of the closest to the pin hole? Is there a thread for just the closest to the pin stuff

I think you can only play the closest the pin challenge on PC.
