We need more courses like this on tour. You actually had to think when you putt if you were above the hole, just like real life. I swear some of the complainers have never golfed a round in their life. We can argue if this game needs such setups to prevent low scores. I think there are other ways to achieve that beside extremist pin placements. But please do not tell us that we played a realistic setup. Greenkeepers want to keep their jobs, too.

Personally I love the holes where there are giant hills off the back of them as I am smart enough to make sure I play the ball short whereas alot of the top 100 attack it for the birdie and then complain at their bogey.
Imo the goal of a good course design should be: Make the birdie opportunities risky. But that can be done in several ways: Water, bunkers, rough and slopy greens, etc. Imho this course emphasizes too much, almost solely, on slopy greens. I do not think that I hit a single bunker or ended up in heavy rough close to the green. I just fought with those greens from hole 1 to hole 18, round 1 to round 4. And in many cases the greens did not reward the good shots but the lucky ones. Some of my closest approaches were some of my worst shots and vice versa. Imho that just happened too often on this course. I know it is immensely tough to please all (or even a majority, especially me ?) with a course design. I am still working on my first course and I am struggling with the right mix between a tough but still realistic setup that prevents the best players from totally destroying my course. And from a artistic standpoint Canuck's course outshines my best effort by a mile.

Bunkers and water are pretty much just for looks. Its very rare that I and I'm pretty sure most others hit in bunkers or water because I can easily figure out the exact distance to the pin. The only thing I could think of to make it more difficult would be instead of saying it's 130 yds to the pin it could say maybe 125-135 yds and just have the actual distance somewhere in those 10 yds. Until something changes bunkers, water, rough and everything else is just for looks.

Shot a putrid 68 in round one. Very disappointing. I seem to play horribly in the bigger events.
That said I liked the course and think there should be more like it where aggressive putts can be severely punished and you have to be extremely mindful of which putts must be played defensively, and which ones you can have a run at.
I played poorly, and the course was tough, but I definitely felt like good scores were out there. Perfect IMO.

Started into the tournament yesterday with a 62 (-8). Pretty happy with that, because I missed a few FIR/GIR. Luckily, my putter had a good day and I was able to get into the clubhouse with a decent round. Started into Rd2 with a Bogey on Hole #1 (missed fairways into the left bunker; 20ft Par putt stayed out on the edge) before I had to quit. Hopefully I'll recover from that when I get back on the course... Oh well... finished my second round yesterday: 66 (-4) I'd say it was a decent round (especially when starting with a bogey), but really nothing more like that. The majority of my shots was okay, but - compared to Rd1 - they always/often ended up on the wrong side of pin, leaving me with a load of very difficult putts. Some of them I could sink, but not many/enough. So I'm sitting at -12 after Rd2 now. Looking at the leaderboard and seeing some of the scores from guys that are (way) in front of me in the WGR, I'd assume I should be happy with that, right? Okay, I am... hopefully I'll have a good round in low(er) winds today/tomorrow.

Anyone else have major % problems more than usual this week? Rounds 1 and 2 not bad but in rounds 3 and 4 it was horrible. Low 90s almost every shot. I played Monday night. Totally ruined my tourney.

57 in round 3...put me back in the tourney - need a sub-60 4th round to catch the leader! Had to take a break to enjoy that 3rd round - been a while since I put it all together.

Firstblitzer should be banned from the forums. He only writes stuff when he's having a go at people or moaning what somebody has said. Clown

It's actually depressing seeing my name so high on the leaderboard knowing what happened next. There are guys who are 8 behind me who beat me after 72 holes. I hate this game!
