Hi again Dryeti,
Wanted to get back to you on the question of that OB area from earlier in the week. Just wanted to know that on the console versions (Xbox, PS's) of this course you said that the OB area was Red in color or highlighted in the color. Just looked up and down the fairway looking for this and on the PC there is no indication of this. With keyboard and in the hole overview mode ("Q" key), using the "W" key to move the view, went the full length and just saw the fairway and rough as it is in the game while playing. Seems that the console players have the advantage on this particular kind of information. Is this red area something that you put in while designing the course or is it a standard function within the GNCD for OB areas to be displayed as such? Have never used the GNCD that much to be really familiar with all of the design functions offered. Just wanted you to know about this, not crying foul or anything like that, just for your information only. Not sure if you have ever seen these designs on the PC after being released. Have a good week and will try my best to play your course with all possible skill that I can muster. With the rain, going to be a first for me, have enough problems with the winds, so rain should be a new and different event to look forward to, I think?!?!
Thanks,
Orion....................
Yes, I designed Hoodoo, I am quite familiar with it The red OB I'm referring to is visible if you use the Hole Overview camera. You will see all the red on the course if you use that view. (I believe it is the "B" button with an Xbox controller, but I don't know what the keyboard command would be if you are playing with a mouse/keyboard.)

Managed to shoot at 76 in practice yesterday, the back 9 is definitely less intimidating than the early holes. I went par or better all the way through 4-13. But then went OB at 14 You have to be careful everywhere because each hole can trip you up but it really is a case of fighting through early on, not getting disheartened and playing a steady round.

Yep agree with the above. I birdied the 2nd then triple bogeyed the 3rd or 4th and lost all confidence. Managed to finish up at -2 though so happy with that, definitely birdies opportunities out there just need to avoid the major collapse on one hole.

Had a crazy experience on (I believe) hole 11. I shanked it hard to the right and it went down over the cliff. In stead of going OB, though, it landed on the fairway below! I thought about declaring it unplayable because I wasn't sure if it was even possible to hit it wayyyyy up back onto hole 11. --Ended up taking a shot with a 4 iron and made it! The end result was a par. A PAR! I was overJOYED after my tee shot to manage a par.
I'm really liking this course after nearly crapping myself at first glance. I've had a few OBs, but that's just something I've got to contend with on this one. It's been the course that practice notes have paid off the most that I've ever played. The rule of 3 on elevation has definitely come into play, as well.
My results haven't been great, all above par, but I've enjoyed this week more than any other so far (after 3 rounds).

Just had a weird experience. Started round 3 and after the third hole the game stops and gives me a score of -72. Then it proceeds to start the 4th round. I emailed the commish but what a weird occurrence. I don't want to be DQ so I hope my third round can be restarted. Very strange!!!

The wheels, as they say, came off. I signed my card with a drawing of a man cutting off another man's head with a chainsaw and an obscenity.

Frustrating course. Managed to finish 8 over for the tourney after a miserable first round start of 7 over. Glad the nightmare is over. Best of luck to you all.

Anyone else have my issue? Played 3 holes of round 3 gave me a score of -72 and kicked me to round 4.

No, maybe I should have quit after hole 3, with the front pin placement on hole 4 I carded a 10 in round 1 AND round 3, without those atrocities my scores have not been half bad

Very strange indeed, what platform do you play on? Have not heard of this particular problem as you describe it but have heard of game skipping a round and was due to a corrupted down load of an upgrade.Anyone else have my issue? Played 3 holes of round 3 gave me a score of -72 and kicked me to round 4.

The pin is completely fair, if you play it the correct way. First, if you are using the flop shot or the pitch shot, do not loft your club way up, and hit 100%....you will spin back off of the green back to your feet. You need to play a finesse shot, a 60-75% shot, that will die when it lands, NOT spin back 10 feet. If you put too much spin/loft on this approach, you will roll back off the front of the green. Play it correctly, and its an easy up and down. Play it with too much loft, and you'll be punished and likely get frustrated (and probably rate the course low )

Congrats to all with in the CC-E division who have participated and survived this weeks memorable, fun filled, eye-opening tournament. It was like going down memory lane to those days of old from Q-School! It would appear that there may be some strikes earned this week within this group , myself being one of the possible recipients. A very difficult challenge to be sure and does show what skill sets are needed to be competitive with those in the upper divisions of the Challenge Circuit. Am not sure if the wind fix was back in effect this week, but the playing field was equal with the different pin locations, the rain and tee box changes. It was an interesting event on a difficult course that required accurate shot making and little if no room for any type of errors.
