Cobra Valley- Not Approved
This course has numerous auto gen features. Sculpting is poor also. Designer needs to look at design tutorials and look at the quality of the courses that are accepted.

Oak Quarry- Not Approved
Sculpting is a huge issue here. Tee boxes are slanted, some extremely slanted. Fairway, rough blending needs work also. Not up to TGC standards. I like some of the ideas here, they just aren't executed properly. Would benefit from talking to some of our top designers and watching tutorials on sculpting.

Black Lake CC Final- Not Approved
There are we real auto gen elements here, such as bunkers that are placed around greens, and in fairways. The rough is very wide in spots and then narrows to a really skinny piece of rough. In many spots, bunkers dissect light rough and heavy rough. The cart path needs to be smoothed in many spots as well. Designer would benefit from sculpting tutorials and looking at other courses in the data base.

Arboreal Ponds Golf Course - not approved This one was somewhat close, and it was mostly playable with a few borderline areas, but it just lacks a little too much basic sculpting and surfacing polish to approve.

Thanks for the info, Mattf. This was my first attempt in TGC2019, and I made and published it before I found the guidelines on this site, so I was not surprised it did not make the grade but am gratified it was "somewhat close". Would it be possible to point me toward more info describing what you are looking for in terms of "basic sculpting" and "surfacing polish" to help me improve? I have viewed all Andre's videos and learned from them, but could use more detail.
Thanks again,
Mike

He often streams while designing, and is very, very helpful with giving tips, ideas, and feedback. He must have some archived stuff from when he did a design series several months ago. You mentioned Andre's vids... you've checked out his design 201 series for TGC2019 already?
Congrats on the "somewhat close" -- seriously, if this was your first attempt, and made before reading the guidelines, then with just a little more time invested you'll be getting courses approved for sure.

Hoophole - course is fine, first one was marked tour worthy, but the second one was rejected because we only want one version of each course.

Hoophole - course is fine, first one was marked tour worthy, but the second one was rejected because we only want one version of each course. I just got the emails, unfortunately, the one without Tour is messed up and was approved. The "Tour" one is the correct course that should be used. (Anyway we can change that on the homepage as well under "Top New Courses?"

B.C.C, Ontario - not approved This one was close, but there were surfacing issues throughout, as well as typical beginner issues such as using the same tree in a line without resizing or rotating it. Definitely keep at it, this one was just barely short of the mark.
