That's sad. I'm sure the Euro-players could handle the event-type and if it's about workload there should be no issue finding volonteers? Only matchplay we do is for the WGC event

Thanks for this. Not much time left for practice, better get cracking!
Just out of interest, can anyone tell me what difference it makes if it is overcast? like does the course play different or is it just the appearance that changes?

No difference - gameplay goes off the settings. Just more of an FYI in case you were wondering when the sun was going to come out.

Should note that the in-game green speeds all say fast - not sure if a bug or not but the sliders Patrick set in the designer should be spaced out enough that they aren't the same speeds in-game.

I want to personally, and on behalf of TGC Tours, give a big thank you to both Patrick (pyates) and Chris (Biggins) for the amount of work they put into preparing their courses for the Open. Patrick stayed up past 3 in the morning last night to get this stuff done for us. Both guys deserve a tremendous amount of credit for their work and two fine courses!

Got two practice rounds in on the Day 1 version. 1 under on my first go, a few birds and a few inevitable bogies. Fighting a nasty hook all the way round.
-5 on my second go. Hit it much better and went bogey free until 17 (which is a MEAN hole btw)
Stunning course that makes you think on almost every hole. Would be an absolute brute when the wind is up (was 0-10mph for both my rounds)

Good work Patrick.
I'm gutted to say the least that my course won't host The Open as it's something I've been working towards for around 3 months. These things happen, however, and the update came just at the wrong time. Well done to TGC Tours for getting a backup plan implemented!
Hopefully I can design a course that will one day host a major.
Good luck fellas!

Thanks Chris. This might sound like BS, but genuinely hope by some miracle the update lands because your course is definitely my favourite in the game, is in my opinion the best course and deserves to host. This or the WGC will be my first event as a designer and if it is this event it will be huge honour, but not one I wish to steal from your good self.
As a side point, massive thanks to the guys here for having faith in me and my course, best of luck to everyone if it is the course used and I hope it does my favourite major (sorry I'm British) justice

Round 1 is a tricky little bugger, managed -5 then played round 2 which was a welcome relief putter was hot on the front 9 where i was -10 slowed down on the back but finished -13. VERDICT so far, this course is very worthy replacement for biggins course, absolutely stunning course, well done to you and the staff for finding a great replacement, cant wait to play the open now which ever is decided, off to round 3 i go

-8 & -9 on the Day 2 version for me. Both should easily have been double figures. Personally i prefer the firmer conditions but the Friday pins certainly present an opportunity if you play well.

Shot -7 day 1 and -10 day 2. Hope I didn't use up all my good shots in practice. Great course
