Getting this up early as I've already finished this weeks rounds and finding myself bored!!
First things first - has anyone got lag on this course? There are sooooo many trees on this course it plays laggy - not as bad as the course last week mind you

Yes, it seems laggy as well, a little less so than at Victory in week 26. Played three practice rounds so far. Its a very short course, so it would be a shame to see the lag costing people as I think there can be quite low scores put up, especially in the upper CC tiers.

I expect if conditions aren't too strong there will be low scores here. Greens are pretty tame. I played last night with 1-5mph winds and could have been quite a bit lower than I was. Most of the par 5s are eagle holes. Saying that I'll prob start my tour -2!

Hope you don't mind a CC-C member joining the party as I too finished all my rounds at The Homestead and thought I'd get some practice in early on Hobble Creek.
Have to agree with you guys, the lag/frame rate issues are sadly plain to see on this course (I'm on XB1). Two potential birdie putts ended up as bogeys because of the lag. It's frustrating as I enjoy TGC but the frame rate issues are a killer. I've played a number of golf video games over the past 30 years and I've never encountered one with lag as bad as TGC, if at all. A damn shame as it's the only negative I can find with the game but a very big negative nevertheless.
Anyhow, I finished my practice round on -6 which consisted of an eagle, six birdies and two bogeys (as mentioned above). Winds were around 9-12mph. Thought that was a decent score given the winds and tough greens (at least I thought the greens were tough with some nasty breaks once again) until I saw that the lowest score on XB1 is -16!!?!!
And speaking of trees, I'm sure there was one right in the middle of the frickin' fairway on hole #13 when trying to play the approach shot. It was a mother of a tree too!
Good luck to you CC-B boys next week with this one.

Some could be nasty but I tried to keep away from the bad breaks! -17 on PS4! Fairways got narrower back 9, at least I hope they did and it wasn't my eyes! There are lots of trees on this one and it's probably them all swaying that causes the frame rate issues! Needs HB to look at it - either stop that amount being planted. Anyway, look forward to more discourse!!

I reckon if I really studied the course and played completely out of my skin with little to no wind then I'm sure I could get to -10, maybe a little lower but -17 is just sensationally ridiculous! Yeah it's a tough one when it comes to the frame rate as if you do take trees and other parts of the landscape away to try and stabilize it then I guess the course would feel really hollow. I don't get why these 'next gen' consoles can't cope with this game?! I have tried TGC on a PS4 and I have to hold my hands up, it certainly appeared to play better in addition to looking better visually than the XB1. I wish I had a top end PC as I would love to give this a crack on one of them (he says hoping Santa's listening in!).

Not sure why they can't cope. I really hope it gets ironed out - HB have been great and the game is clearly popular.
Yes, would love a super quick bespoke system. I'd also like to be loaded. Can't see either happening! In the mean time I'll stick to hacking up the community courses on here

Is it me or are these greens jekyll and hyde? I don't remember the last time I'm left so many putts short and at the same time crushed so many putts past the hole. I'm getting frustrated putting.

^ I was thinking same thing. Ive had many putts just die at the cup. And a few look like i putted on glass.
Im confused about this being a tourney course. It seems so small and wide open compared to my first two weeks on the tour. I think top guys will easily shoot -15 or -16. I shot a -4,5, and 6 in my first three practice rounds. Im cc-c also.

You have to understand that there is a substantial difference between CC-A and CC-Z, with a wide variety of skill levels in between. If I choose hard courses every week, it's less fun for the Z folks. The A crowd needs a challenge, however. So the compromise is that the level of difficulty will fluctuate from week to week. Your strategy will have to vary from week to week depending on if you are a player who can go real low on easy courses, or if you do better on the tougher tracks.

Played my first practice round tonight and found it pretty easy but had the same framerate issues and slow and fast putts. I'm on PS4 and I shot -12 with 0-5 mph wind. I'm hoping to continue that scoring for the real rounds but I doubt it. Fun course but super simple design and strategy.

Perhaps the framerate part of the course description should be judged from a worst case (console) perspective? This course is judged as "Mostly Smooth" when in fact the feedback from console players seems to be "Mostly not Smooth". FPS so far hasn't had any effect on my swing however it does make it hard to watch sometimes.

All I know is that I do my usual swing and I'm left standing on the tee or on the fairway with my club returning to address! It's not as bad as Victory Club the other week but it's certainly not smooth!
It feels stuttery on the greens and I've had putts go further than they should have. There's so many objects, especially trees, that make this one quite resource intensive. It's a shame the designer wasn't able to cut back on trees whilst still having a clustered look.
Going to be hard to score real low but looking forward to seeing the scores. -50 to -60!

I don't find the frame rate issues are affecting my game, but yeah does suck a bit to watch. I was able to put up a -10 in my last practice round with roughly 10 mph winds so felt pretty good about that. I didn't have as much of an issue with the putting as I've been hearing about on here. Drained a 40 footer, and a few more long ones with substantial elevation changes, so I think this course is suitable even though it's a little choppy. Still, I agree less trees might help!

I guess i was thinking all courses would be like the homestead. I dont mean super hard, just looks wise and stuff this course looked super simple. I think every par 5 is reachable in 2. Im not sure what everyone means by framerate issues. Im on xb1. Im afraid if i know what you mean by frame rate issues ill start noticing. Haha. No disrespect meant on course design or being picked. It was just a huge difference in the first two weeks.
