I like the no cuts since I always played 4 rounds even if I missed the cut. I probably would have been borderline cut this week with a 66, 68. Trying to stay in the top 70 gave me the motivation to do better and finished with 62, 64.
This tournament was very satisfying to me. I shot a -1 in two practice rounds and then somehow pulled a -28 in the real tournament.

well knowing i cant really compete against the low scorers i went ahead and played in 16-19mph winds , finished my first round at 66 and second at 70....was really happy with those scores as i felt like i really earn't them , only thing that seems strange is the green speed, some green i would swear were slow and others like glass to putt on... Now theres 2 Carlton supporters, you and me mate welcome franz, good luck in CC-A Stephen Qld Aust

Round two was played over a couple of days as my family from Australia spent a lot of time here during there last few days of their holiday. It was another tough round with high winds but I played slightly better with a two under par round to bring my event score back to even. There was some strange putts during round two, putts with break that did not turn, straight putts that veered just before the hole but these things happen when not playing well. I was happy to finally see low winds coming into round three, not that it stopped me putting my tee shot in the rough and my second shot in the rough but I managed to pitch close enough to the hole to par. I also parred the next hole but at least this time I reached the green in two, something I could not do my first two rounds. The third hole was going as expected, my third shot was a thirty three yard flop, played right it was sure to be a birdie. What I did not expect was for it to drop directly into the hole. I could not help leave out a little shout, it's been a long time since I had some good fortune. Two more pars followed but I was giving myself chances, my approaches were improving and I took a birdie chance on the eight which left me four under which is how I finished the front nine.
The back nine started really well with two more birdies, it should have been three but I think I was starting to get nervious now, frightened I would mess up one of my better rounds in awhile, waiting for that red number on my score card. I did not know then it was going to be a bogey free round so was happy to see my putts creep in for pars. I birdied the fourteenth to go seven under, pars all the way now and I would be damn happy. My second shot on the fifteenth was on of the best shots I have played in a long time. A long iron to within seven feet of the hole, my second eagle of the round had me leaving out a louder roar than the first eagle. To birdie the next hole was just the icing on the cake, ten under and that's how it finished. I don't think I am back to playing my best just yet, I don't know if that will be enough to avoid my second strike but damn it felt good. Nice to know I can still put together a good round and even though there's still work to do but for know, I am going to enjoy the moment. Thanks again to the people that sent me encouraging messages, which to tell you the truth, we're just as important to me as the good round.
Going to try add a clip, never done before so let's see what happens

Very nice shot and round! Honored that you were playing against my ghost. I know that feeling of having a good round going and not wanting to screw it up. Its like that one bogey just sucks all the air out.

Khamsen, you make no sense. A 59 is nigh on impossible around the homestead with the winds I played with today. The two at the top of the leaderboard would have almost definitely played with a lot less wind than what I had. If I had calmer conditions I know I could post a low score. The same weather for everyone levels the playing field.

The shot was brilliant and I almost mistook Johns commentary for your 'yes!' shout! Lol. Keep it up

I can't wait for the new wind patch -- I noticed that on Sunday I played my first two rounds and could get at all of the par 5s in two. However I played the last two rounds yesterday and had about the same velocity but totally different direction so I could only get at one of them in two.
(Plus I feel I'm better than average at 15+ winds)

The same weather for everyone levels the playing field. You are correct that the rounds I played were in calm wind...I typically play saturday mornings to get the full tournament done and played everything in wind that was between 5-11mph. I welcome the wind patch as I feel fortunate when I sign on to play and winds are calm, whereas I feel slighted if my winds are 15-19 whereas the leaders are playing with 2-6. The wind patch can't come back soon enough!!

G'day guys/gals,
Well done to all of you thus far.
I am in CC-E and the Wind Issue has been here since I started, almost 12 months ago.
If the wind is going to be there, then I look at the design of most golf courses, and you would expect???, that if you had a head wind on one hole at least by the third hole you would have a tail wind. I think this is a problem with the designing of the courses. I am not faulting the designers, but I once tried to design a course and I could have every hole in nowhere near each other so as any wind factor would be the same as the others.
I mean, in four rounds, not one of my par 5 tee shots gained favour from the wind, yet most of the par 3's had a tail wind of in excess of 15 mph....I could not land and hold a ball near the pin in those scenarios.
In any event,
This is a great game, a very good forum and can only get better.
Kind regards to all and best of luck in the next tour,
oz

Hello mate - were you on exemption from CC B this week? What's your tour name? no. K.Hansen TruThat80? Played your ghost at Hobble Creek the other day. You hit a great shot to one of the par 5s on back 9 - a little harder and it would have been in. Did you mean to pitch it on the bank of the green or was it luck??? ;-)
