I need to learn how to putt. Ruined my chances of winning again with poor putting. It becomes sole destroying after a while. I know that I'll have a chance of taking another title if I didn't miss so many short putts. The new granular swing on PC doesn't help, it feels like you have to really hit putts now, rather than smoothly stroking them. I missed so many as they lacked that foot or two of pace. The only reason that I scored 55 in round one was because I chipped in four times. Round three was a nightmare, I limped home in 62. That's where I lost the tournament this week. I hit a shot on the 8th hole which completely baffled me? I was playing safe knowing that it would probably go a couple of yards past, but if the wind changed mid back swing(which it was doing often) or I mishit it, I would safely carry the water. To my horror it pitched 5 yards short of the green and into the water. I watched the replay to make sure that I hadn't mis-clubbed or mishit hit, I hadn't, pretty strange that one? I kinda lost focus for a while after that and carded -10. That's the problem when something like that happens, it really knocks you off your stride and it is hard to get it back. 55,56,62,58 for a -57 finish. Probably good enough for a top ten. Winning score should be around the -60 sort of score, or maybe lower if someone keeps a streak going as the course is very easy indeed. Absolutely spectacular to look at and really well designed, it's on my favourites list, but a little easy for the European tour IMO. Good luck to those yet to play.

Felt super confident going into this week and managed to acheive my target which should hopefully give me a long overdue top 10, made a mess of closing out round 3 after missing a easy ish birdie on 16, 3 putting 17th green and then making another bogey on 18 which i think will cost me come sunday, anyway cant complain had more than my fair share of luck as my highlight reel will show my scores were -15,-14,-12,-15 (-56 Total) Bloody hell Jules, did you step in a big dog turd before you started playing your rounds? Eagle madness there I hit four eagles in round one but they were the run of the mill chip and run type eagles to flat pin placements, not 1 in 10 hole out chances, or in the case of the crazy eagle on 6 where it's more like one in a 1000! Nice shooting, thanks for the highlights.

Some seriously good golfers on tour right now, every week my target is too beat my world rank divided by 2 (to cater for the 2 top tours) and slowly move up, its so hard to win. Great shooting by all those above me see you next week in scotland

Shot a nice -59 through four for tied on PS4. Not to sure if beaten or if it'll be enough. Wouldn't be surprised to see a -60 or -61 shot.

So what kind of winds did eveyone get? A pretty steady 5-12 mph most of the time for me. I played them all at the same time, as I normally do if I have time and I am playing well. The last round it went up a little, probably 7-14 mph. Most of the time in a helpful direction though, apart from holes 17 and 18 which were into and quartering. I find that it's not the strength of wind that's the problem, direction can make all the difference on how holes play. Some holes are so difficult with awkward wind directions.

Yea i get what you mean. I think strength means your ball will do a bit more on the especialy with the slopes. It could be the differnce between an extra 6 foot of roll that makes the putt so.much tougher, maybe. I know some lucky dabs got to.play in no wind may explain the low scoring. Didnt think it was that easy a course

Still hurting from 1 hole this week that not only cost me a solid finish, looking like its gunna cost me a cut. I was -18 on the 18th hole my 2nd round came up short of the green on my approach. Had a 15 yd shot tried PW chip didnt get up came back down. Tried flop came back, pitch same result. My ball came to rest 14yds out after the pitch and that was the magic num. 14yd chip made it left me a tap in to go from -12 on the round to -7. From -18 total to -13. 1yd was all it took. Still sick over it.

Had a tidy round 1 and could of bin a -20. Then something went wrong with my putting. Pulled nearly every putt to the left from then on so was having to aim right edge on short straight putts. Casued a few 3 putt bogeys from inside 10 ft. Still chuffed to be back competing. Winds were very similar to bradleys. 5-12 mph. Did have winds helping most of the time. Only the last 2 holes that got hurt really. Good luck all

Still sick over it. I had more or less that same shot on Sunday. What I have started doing with those shots, the awkward range between manageable flop shots and chips, is delofting the LW to the first line down and trying to hit about a 50% shot for a 15 yard shot, or up to about 70% for a 20 yarder. It's pretty much a feel shot and not reliably mathematical, just somewhere around those numbers. Have a mess with it and find your range, it's saved me a few shots lately. You get the odd one that flies way to far as you didn't time it right, but overall I believe it saves more shots than loses them. I tend to do this shot on any shots between 14-22 yards if I am playing to a green that is sloping towards me severely, especially if the greens are receptive as they are here. If you do this the ball won't have any backspin at all, it will either come to a stop or roll out a little if the greens are firm. Personally, I always chip if the shot allows me to. I find you get more control that way. I think that there's a change coming soon with the flop shot, so we're all going to have to learn a new way to play them anyway.
