I have been struggling with tempo for at least a month now but have been avoiding recalibrating after so many horror stories. Nothing but joy for me - I am still not perfect, but near the white mark the majority of the time now and my scores show it. I could have been even better if my putting was only better (some rounds it is, not these two). I also was struggling with my lie penalty in the rough. Sometimes the difference is 2-4% but both of these rounds it was 11%. This happened once before. Do different courses have different spreads (I have lie percentage fittings on my irons/wedges)? In R1 (-8) I was really getting stressed around hole 5. Was sort of glad I missed a birdie on #8 by 6 inches, but sure would have liked to get off the par train a lot sooner!
After that round, I was excited to see how R2 (-6) would go. Rough really hurt me a few times and cost me two bogies. Tempo was still doing pretty good though, so happy there.

Wow! Congrats! (?) I had something similar last season when I was struggling to keep my head above water in CC-C and a good result in a promo event boosted me all the way to Elite. I got crushed there though, and would have gone down rapidly if it hadn't been at the end of the season. Best of luck in Kinetic though. If you can channel your promo scoring then you'll do very well. Also congrats to SkyBlueBen for getting a leg up from CC-A to Elite. Kudos! Really wish I hadn't forgotten to screenshot my CC rounds now. I'll ghost them later tonight!! Thanks

Well a -23 would normally feel pretty good, but I know this course is capable of more. Good news is my tempo felt pretty good throughout, so hopefully scores keeps getting better. R1 -8 R2 -6 R3 -5 R4 -4
Anyone see a disturbing trend?

Hi all. A quick update for you from billybudd0623. As you may know, Bill had to step away from Dirtbags and the game in general to concentrate on his health recovery. He says: "I am around 80% better but still only getting around 4 hours sleep a night. My return is a little bit away still. My work has gotten behind and I am trying to get above water in that also. Thanks for your concern and share with the group that I miss them, the game and will see them soon."

jeseterr Round one -9
Couldn't do anything wrong on the front nine.Scored -8. Normal play resumed for me on the back nine. Swing timing was out, confidence with my driver had disappeared.Approach shots to the green was shaky,so alot needed of my putter. Missed a few birdie putts on the back nine, but made alot of scrambling pars. A fluke chip shot on the last hole got me a birdie. I think the game gave me that birdie on the last hole because it felt sorry for me.

jeseterr Round two hole by hole score. 4,4,4,4,4,3,4,4,3=-1 4,2,4,4,4,4,3,3,4=-3
Bogey hole,3. Par holes,2,4,6,7,8,9,10,12,14,15,16 and 18. Birdie holes,1,5,11,13 and 17.
Seemed to have abit of control with my swing in this round. Missed a few birdies, but did my best to keep the bogeyman off my scorecard 😂. Hopefully my few birdies will help my partner.

Round 1: -10 Decided to ghost hitandhope119 in the hope of being inspired by his amazing front 9 and started off pretty well, -5 from the first 6 holes. Then the tempo started going a bit wonky and a couple of frustrating putts stopped just short of the hole, and my scorecard started to look normal once again. Things picked up towards the end but I felt like I left quite a few shots out there on a fairly easy course. On the other hand our joint scorecards would have made for a great best ball score

Unspectacular. Can't get a grasp on this course at all yet, and everything could be better. R1: -8 R2: -8 (above) = -16 at half jeseterr

Round 2: -3 That's what I get for calling this an easy course. The usual litany of stupidly fast greens, lip outs and non-droppers that accompanies any clubhouse whinge applies here, but I have no-one to blame for my farcical round other than myself. I should have taken time out after the first few holes after witnessing the sheer depths my tempo can plummet to after midnight, but ohhh no, I had to bloody-mindedly carry on hacking about, stinking up the course as I went. Twice I ended up in situations where I was chipping on to the green from the rough and even if the ball hit the green at a speed of one inch per hour it still accelerated past the hole and off the other side - between them this cost me 3 shots. I stopped caring after hitting even par after 12, which actually helped slightly, but I'm glad that's over...
