It doesn't look like it should be a hard course. Wide fairways, green slopes aren't that bad. The hazards just seem more magnetic than usual and the course finds a way to get you to make a bad shot.

Put 2 in the water on 12 in the first round…I shot well in the second round and sit at +3 overall…Guess we’ll see if that’s good enough to make the cut. Right now it looks close

Well, I played the first round at even par. -1 overall on the five par-3 holes. My downfall was hole 2. Double bogie. I pushed my aim all the way into the bunker on the right considering the huge downhill and slope plus the 13 MPH wind, then proceeded to hit a black fast right into the water. Penalty shot has me in a bunker. 3 birdies front nine and another bogie on 4 had me E on the turn only to throw up a bogie on 10 (another black fast into a bunker) and evened on 11, the first of 3 par-3s on the back nine. From then on out, I simply did enough to 2 putt or chip it very close on every hole from there on out. I tell you, if I wasn't so damned good at chipping, I'd easily be in at +5.

Right now it looks close I saw that damned hole, but my CC-L bugaboo is hitting crappy shanks on par-5s to the left when it's all there for the taking. So my tee shot was so screwed the water didn't even come into play.

Rd 3 was a study in contrast. 8 birdies but also a triple and double. Conditions in Rd 3 are similar to the 2nd round with just a bit more wind. I suspect in Rd 4 they are going to ramp up those green speeds and putting will be a nightmare.

Finished round 2. 6 birdies (should have eagled 18th, but phantom break on a straight arrow line and straight putt found it moving to the right), a double bogie and two bogies have me in at -2. Inexplicable random slow on 11 had me in the water. That was an utter joke. 5 MPH wind half in my face and I aimed 7 grids to the left trying to catch the red slope into the hole. Barely off the perfect slow and you'd think I completely very slowed it. Bounced right into the water.

I tend to severely choke in the 4th round. I start to play cautiously then I swing too slow and the dreaded shank arrives. Normally I play aggressive and tend to have fast swings but I compensate by aiming well right.
I'm currently -6 after 3 rounds. I really want that one last promotion mark so I can move up to CC-K

Well that sucked. Couldn't get on track and finished round 3 at +2, making me even after 3 rounds. Missed way too many putts. Part of the problem I'm seeing is my choice of warmup round. It seems if I play a casual, I tend to do well on TGC. I played a MyCareer round at Emery Beach Club and that wrecked me for the TGC round. We'll see how tomorrow goes.

Played rounds 3/4 last night in a short period of free time I had. I wasn’t able to play a practice round or hit the range before hand and amazingly I shot under or in each round. Maybe that’s how I should play every TGC round. However, there’s less stress when I know I’m not getting demotion marks and I play kind of carefree.

Well that was fugly. +3 round 4. I just think I'm destined for mediocrity and sitting in the middle of the pack. One thing I can look forward to, however. I'll be the first CC-L player to earn a million dollars while never playing outside of CC-L.

I didn’t end up finishing my very first week in tour. Seems like it was a rough first up assignment. Next week I will persist.

Another ugly round of golf to start this one. The only consistency I had was that I played a nice birdie free round. Don’t even recall an instance where I had a reasonable chance to make a birdie. Finished +11 for the day.
Narrower fairways than the last couple weeks so accuracy off the tee is important. Normally 80-90% of my tee shots are fast so I’m able to compensate for that with some consistency. This week I was closer to 50% slow and 25% each fast and perfect. So I had no idea where the ball was ever going to end up aside from most likely off the fairway. That lead to a lot of missed greens and a lot of scrambling and greens that felt really slick that I never adjusted to and a bad score. Already seems likely for another comfortably missed cut this week.
