Glad you liked the course. Knew 8 would generate mixed feelings haha. With that one, it’s a traditional feature on Japanese courses and for that hole, I’d argue the drive is easy if you take ego out. It’s a 35 yard wide fairway at its most pinched (longer hitters can even carry the right hand bunkers for a 50 yard wide fairway) and you can hit 3w-3w-full wedge easily. The OB left shouldn’t be an issue for all but the very worst drives. The tree itself is barely ever in play - it is far more visual intimidation than anything else but will push you to consider which side of the fairway you play for the best angle into the pin. If the second shot on a three shot par five doesn’t make you think and is purely about whacking it as far as you can, it’s a bad hole. Regarding the 620 yard par five, I’d suggest a change in perspective - that’s a wedge/pitch approach (I.e. the same in terms of distance/par relation as the 370 yard 3rd hole). Clubsets and wind might change it a bit but that’s the rough premise. To balance, you then have the shortest par five on the 10th which is often as little as a 7i in. To be fair, knowing Hirono, a tree in the middle of a three shot par five has a bit of IRL Japanese similarity (see hole 15 at Hirono), although I would completely understand peoples frustration at such a hazard. Explanation accepted. Makes perfect sense if it is a traditional feature on Japanese courses. There was frustration from my poor play baked into me taking it out on that tree after shooting +13 & +17. To be honest- I have managed to avoid the tree blocking my 3rd shot the first 3 rounds. First round I was so proud to be on the back of the green in 3 with a shortish chip and failed to notice the downslope below the pin and walked off with a 7. 2nd round- O.B. on the drive. Played smarter and had better tempo 3rd round - still bogeyed #8 but finished the round +2. I am working on my 2nd (almost done) and 3rd courses and can appreciate the complexity of your designs and strategies the more I learn. Thanks, Bob

Had my best ever finish last week in CC-E, tied for 2nd. Things will drastically have to improve if I am going to get anywhere near that again.
3 birdies and a bogey in my opening round. A good challenging course to finish the season. Cut line looms at -1 so hopefully no disasters in R2 and then shoot well on the weekend.
As it is the last week of the season, I just want to say thanks to all involved for their efforts. Admin, course designers etc. Its the first season I have played in TGCTours and have thoroughly enjoyed it.

Been building myself up for theTour Champoinships for weeks now , slowly improving , had 2 magic sub par practice rounds ................... you know what comes next . Abject dogshizen !!!! . No cut , season over gutted. It is a great course b101 perefectly set up by catcherman22 . @catcherman , i have only been on tour since April and have throughly enjoyed every minute so far , it has been a massive learning curve especially as i have never had the pleasure of RED fast or Red Slow swing either . Cannot wait for next season to start . Thanks Dan . Cy

Is there anything more infuriating than how 2k21 calculates drops!!
At -5 thru 17 during round 1, hit 3W into pond pin high. The two options are to drop across water in rocks/rough or replay from 253yd in fairway. Sure hope they can figure the basic rules for drops by next game.

Welcome to the end of season 7. This week we finish in Japan at b101 fabulous Akashi Shore. Nothing to crazy this week other than the shifting wind directions. Hope you guys enjoyed the schedule this season... it's always tough trying to find a good mix for the various levels from A - L. Good job with course selection throughout the season. I definitely enjoyed the majority of the courses. Suggestion for next season. I would love to see CC get to play “major” courses during those weeks. I would like to see where I stand versus everyone in my flight on those tough courses. I played first two rounds at Black Salt Valley just to see how I’d do….shot 72-78, which sucks compared to the Platinum guys. Would like to see what my fellow competitors would post too. Maybe you can’t have on same course, but something similar. A good tough links course for British week, a solid parkland US Open style course for that week, etc Thanks

Ended my season on a very bitter note. Missed cut by a country mile. Everything that could go wrong went wrong. Bad breaks and bounces I can accept even when I get tons of those, the last straw that broke my back was hitting OB with a very fast drive on 8 in round 2, then hitting very fast again and barely getting lucky that time. On the 16th I only hit very fast and very slow. Tempo disappeared for god knows what reason. Probably my mental checking out of the game at that point. Oh well, it happens.
As a first timer into these games coming into this season, it's been great fun. I've enjoyed the varied difficulty this season having played through all of the weeks on offer (minus the first 2 week qualifier which I didn't make into in time), and that is indeed a tricky balance to land when you have to consider the various skill levels of hundreds, even into the thousands of people (at least at some point this season, towards the end it's been way less). Not envying having that kind of job, but I think it's been handled splendidly. Cheers Dan.
Good luck to all still playing for something. See you next season.

I tried making that (and the area behind 6 tee) OB in the hope it’d redirect drops but actually just pushed the ball further back into the trees.

33 events this season (started midway through), went from missing cuts in CC-L to a probably second place finish this week in CC-E, and starting to put it together with a -26 this week. Really looking forward to the announcement for next season.
I thought this course was a lot of fun. Challenging without beating you over the head with forced carries and crazy bounces, and gettable if you were hitting it well. Think I had three bogeys and three eagles in the last round (with some birdies mixed in). Loved the 15th hole. In four rounds, I made par clearing the lake, bogey when I hit it in the water, birdie when I laid up, and par when I hit it in the water and got up and down. I really like the juxtaposition of difficult and easy on the first two holes as well. A really tough starter, but you could immediately get a lost shot back on two. I played the first +2 for the week, but the second -6.

After a couple of top 25's (my second and third best results in CCA this season) I've missed the last two weeks due to holiday. Are we going again next week? The silence is deafening!
