Qualifications for current season:- Win an official PGA Tour event since the previous year’s Players Championship
- Win a major championship (Masters, U.S. Open, British Open, PGA Championship) or The Players Championship title within the previous five years
- Win a World Golf Championships event (Bridgestone Invitational, Accenture Match Play Championship, Cadillac Championship or HSBC Champions) during the previous three years, provided you were a PGA Tour member at the time of victory
- Finish among the top 50 players in the current season's world rankings or among the top 10 players from the current season’s FedEx Cup points list, as of a specified cut-off point
- Be one of the players just outside the top 10 on the current season's FedEx Cup point list. If all the spots have not been filled through the other criteria, the 144-man Players Championship field is completed with PGA Tour members from the current season’s FedEx Cup points list starting with the 11th position and going in order (as of the cut-off point) until the field is full
Qualifications that will come into effect in 2015-2016 Season (in addition to above)- Finish among the top 30 players on the previous full season’s FedEx Cup points list
- Be among the top 125 finishers from the previous full season’s official PGA Tour money list
- Win the previous year’s Senior Players Championship
- Finish as the leading money winner from the previous full season's Nationwide Tour
- Win the FedEx Cup as the overall PGA Tour champion during the previous three years

You would have to qualify via top 50 WGR I think winning a WGC should not be relative to the PGA Tour as an entry criteria Scott. Reason being it is a World Golf event and not a PGA event. Feeling this or not....

The players championship is a pga tour event - so makes sense.
Maybe having multiple cards based on results and number of played tournaments would be an idea. For example minimum of 10 tournaments played last season and making the card based off FED EX points?

I thought it was for a WGC event as I didn't take it as the Players.... Obviously a PGA Event and unofficial 5th Major in the eyes of many pros. Forget my previous comment. Qualification criteria sounds fine

So there's going to be back to back PGA events (WGC Match Play then Player's Championship) that many people with PGA Tour cards cannot qualify for?
Really?

Majority of PGA players will qualify for Players this season.
Half of top 50 is PGA, bulk of the rest come from PGA Fedex Cup standings. so approx 110+ plus will be PGA.
Plus there's a second PGA event running the same week alongside the WGC event.
