I must admit I thought we were past these easy tournaments with the new criteria admin were working off? Not complaining as I enjoy.it either way, just the impression I was under! I agree to an extent and that's why I offered on several occasions to set the course up to be more difficult. I had even started to work on it. However, I don't think there's a big problem with providing a tournament setup after the last couple of weeks that allows for a little less stressful play. There can be somewhat of a balance. Not every course on the true PGA Tour is a serious challenge. Some allow for low 60s scoring for all 4 rounds. I'd say that's pretty comparable to the scores here. Exactly my thought. I don't see what all the fuss is about. I don't mind the tough challenges either. The only thing I hate is when it's impossible to stop a shot on a rock hard green and you're left trying to land it short and get a lucky bounce. I enjoyed my time this week.

I don't understand why we can't have both? Diversity is nice, diversity is fun, diversity is awesome. I think if we played concrete greens every week that would get boring fast. Having to shoot at every pin mixes it up a bit where as some weeks you'll play for spots. Granted I didn't even play that well this week (hoping for a sneaky sneaky top 25) but still.

I hope my -18 holds for the cut-line but I am not feeling confident about it.

No reason, just opinions. Personally I'm coming from the "golf simulation", integrity of the game, angle. This game touts itself as a "simulation" (it is not, of course, at least with aids on). TGCT has a stated goal to mimic the pro tours. So - rounds in the 50s should be rarified air - not "nothing special" or "average". These silly scores are fun once in a while but in no shape or form does that game resemble golf. Aware that this is a purist opinion, but it really looks bad when the leaderboard is full of sub 60s. I believe rectifying this is more up to the courses than anything else. If they are set up for scoring people are going to score. Real life Pros would rip up a vacation course from the white tees as well... No criticism towards any design here - easy can be awesome but to me has no place on the top tier tours. Do agree concrete should not be the go to method to find difficulty. I believe we have had a shift in course design now towards more challenging courses so future looks bright. Difficult courses require a more complete game, adds variation over 72 holes and keeps the tournament alive longer for more people.

I think there are many combinations which contribute to members shooting low, one of them is the course, but there are also additional factors, like wind strength and the ability to putt. I consider myself a great ball striker but average putter (I occasionally have good days). Watching other members regularly drain 20ft+ putts is a skill. I think the only way to level the playing field would be to ensure that all members had the same wind speeds during their rounds. Personally, I don't like the concrete courses, because it just becomes a putting, chipping, flop and pitch shot contest and ultimately it doesn't reward good or even great shots unless you're using your LW.
I'm never convinced with the argument which pertains to "golf simulation" because, it's a video game. Optishot 2 is available for that purpose and it gets great reviews, plus you can play online vs your friends.

Back on the tournament itself...Glad I had a good showing. Comfortably made the cut at -20. Had the round of my life in the 3rd with 15 straight birdies to finish with a 55 to move into the top 10. Wanted to keep the momentum going and I did by opening with a 28 on the front in Rd 4. Then I had a few putts start burning edges and a bad drive on 16 that led to a bogey. Finished 33 on the back and a 61 for the round. I'm happy with that, but know I was so close to an exceptional tournament. -46 overall. Hoping for a top 20 when it's all said and done.

I shot a decent 59-59-61 in my first three rounds, which put me at -34, so I saw on the leaderboard I was 6 back as of writing this post going into the last round. I don't know how, but I pulled off a 51 on my final round. That put me at -54, so if one of the leaders shoots a -15, which is very possible on this course, they would win. In my final round, I drove one of the par fours to about ten feet and made eagle and also eagled one of the par fives. I shouldn't have played such a risky shot on the last hole, but I was able to hit a good flop shot after being in the heavy rough and made birdie to secure, to my knowledge, my only round on this game so far without any pars. Attached is my final round screenshot. Attachments:

We still want a mixture of difficulties. That, coupled with the fact that people weren't happy with last minute changes is why you still seeing some easier courses. So we're trying to work further out in the schedule for tour proofing/multipins which meant some of the April courses were just going to be played as they were submitted originally.
We're fine with winning scores in the 50's for the easier courses - it was the scores in the 70-unders that were a bit much.

I just logged in to play my final 2 rounds of the tourney only to find out the final leaderboard is already posted. REALLY? It's @!$#ing Saturday night at 9pm and the final leaderboard is already posted? Shouldn't the tournament end no Sunday night?

If you want to be part of the people that play and get annoyed if miss out then you have got to stay up to date with any changes. Was posted plenty enough in enough places. Only person you can get mad at is yourself I'm afraid
