Thank you so much for your detailed playthrough and you were spot-on with many of your comments. As I have mentioned previously this was my first full 18 release and was an extension of my 6-hole TGC Design League #4 entry. The cliffs were extreme when I did the original land mass and I have learned a lot about tearing, etc from all the great tutorials (b101, Canuck, etc) I'm also learning a lot about sculpting in general and what makes a green fair, but difficult. Your playthrough has enlightened me to great ideas and perspective that I can take into my future designs. I certainly built it with holes that required shaping shots and being on the correct side of the fairways/greens, but my execution with the Course Designer may cause it to not come to light as well as it should. All in all, watching you play the course and hearing your feedback is fantastic and many thanks again! Play through. It got split into two parts because a phone call came in that I thought was going to be important. It wasn't...

Did you not end up in the water? The one issue I had with the routing so close was identifying OB for one hole that shouldn't be there for a parallel one. For example, second shots on #1 could go over the right cliff and end up on #17 fairway. I tried to make the cliff edge OB, but that doesn't work if the person ends up on a fairway, etc. I couldn't figure out how to have that be an unplayable lie, so the person is stuck with an impossible shot. Not sure what to do in the case, except not have this routing.... Took a 9 on #4 after I missed the fairway and careened down the cliff face. Apparently not OB. Seriously considered just turning and launching it into the water. Lol No it got caught up on a random flat spot about halfway down. Was able to hack it back up and over the edge of the face. No big deal...although when I spun around and realized there was water below I did consider seeing if I could launch it in there and take my chances. Lol

I'm going to try to turn this into a tour course and see if it makes the approved list and cut.
I'll have to do some minor editing, since I was up against the plant meter with the original design.
Hoping to remove some "out of the way" things that won't impact the play of the course, while letting me set tour features.
I'm now designing my courses by marking areas for crowd, stands, etc, before doing a lot of planting. More work, but will enable the course to play the same with or without tour features.
