Welcome to St Martins Daymark Links. Set fictionally on St Martins Island , the northern most Island of the Isles of Scilly , 26 miles off the coast of Cornwall , England. The Daymark was erected in 1863 by Thomas Eikins and is a Grade II listed building. It is the highest point of the Isles of Scilly and is the oldest surviving navigational beacon in the British Isles . The only public house on the Island has been recreated here also "The Seven Stones Inn " as below with the Daymark in the background. This island was chosen to recreate a Championship Coastal Links style design befitting the best players in the game and the rugged terrain was used to create this Par 71 Layout to hopefully host Tour Events and Major Championships. This is my second design to be submitted to TGC tours and following on from The Dickensian G.C Kent , which was afforded a Tour worthy status , i have greatly improved my skills to give you this design for all to play. My good friend SAM aka Simon Morris has made a Course showcase video below to show you all the full course design and hopefully you will all give it a play , a review , a stream and one day hopefully a tournament befitting it design. Many many thanks to my good friends Allan Eastwood and Jon Leece for the playtesting and design critiques which has given the polish to this course . Enjoy the video all and also some further pictures. The will be live streamed tomorrow on TWITCH by SAM8964TGC Simon Morris and the Wacky Wednesday Brew Crew so tune in as i will be online also .

Finally got a full round in on this one last night and had a blast! The course plays very fair and does a really nice job of providing multiple options on how to play each hole. The finishing stretch of 16,17, and 18 was excellent! Terrific work here I’ll look forward to your next one!

I am newly poking around in the design threads looking for excellent courses to put on a competitive society. Food for thought, in your description or maybe someplace else, it would be good information to know when the course becomes a challenge and when it plays it easiest, for example, with the wind from the Northwest and very fast greens, maybe that creates the biggest challenge for the course and maybe wind from the south and medium green speed make it play it's easiest. When I set up four rounds, I like to give the players 2 average rounds, one round to score on and one challenging round.
By the way, I am super impressed with this course and it is getting added. I truly appreciate the work you and all the designers do to make this a great game.

Thanks for reply. I routed this ( and both ) my courses to not make one certain wind an advantage . I set the greens in default to 181 , so that they were quick ( Tournament set up ) . As for wind speed , well for this course you could vary in all rounds to give variety , but use the Championship tees ?? For the Elite / High-end players they have been shooting -10 maybe more . So depends on your society really but there is enough challenge with greens / pins and Pot bunkers to make this a challenge with no wind at all. See how you go , all the other societies and streamers that have played seemed to like it . Hope it goes well BSG

Obviously, I will play it multiple times, but I figure no one knows the course better than you. Some courses with certain wind direction allows you to drive a short par 4 or reach a longer par 5 in two. Or the opposite, Wind in a certain direction makes you lay up because you can't clear the lake or takes away the ability to drive one of the par 5s in two. But, it makes sense that a well designed course will have all of this and while the wind may help one hole this round, it also hurts another. As you can tell, I'm not a designer. LOL Thanks again.

Play through. Wonderful course! WhatAboutAmeobi . I have now watched your VOD completely and i have to say your attention to details throughout the course playthrough is some of the best I have seen . You considered the time and effort I put in to the strategy on every hole and gave a very fair critique in all circumstances . I am so glad you enjoyed the POT bunkers and the two revetted faced bunkers i made on No11. I am sure the Kinetic Tour will have fun when the tour stop comes around in March/April as the tournament feel I went for has been widely enjoyed . Thanks so much again for taking a DM request. BSG
