Good stuff jambo, I'm interested in adding them to our rota for Tour of Great Britain and Ireland (xbox, approx 520 members) but as Yeltzman says we can't get em to load on console

Ok cheers for the info. I've got all 3 courses on a huge map so should be able to cut some of the stuff off for each and get the file size down a bit and see if that helps. And glad you enjoyed the course. I've got a few more locally which I'm going to finish up - Dunbar being another links one. Unless you want to remake these courses from scratch, it is too late to re-mask the lidar data. But looking at the course in camera mode it does seem like you imported the whole plot at high resolution, and also have all the imported lidar trees that are actually "lidar noise" like power lines and other things. You could probably get this file under 8,000 KB if you re-masked and only used manually planted trees. Or... you could go in and just remove all the lidar trees that are not on the course and then use a blue tool to smooth sharp elevation points at the edge of the plot lines, and this may make the file somewhat more manageable. You really want to keep lidar course file sizes in the sub 6,000 KB size for them to play nicely with the older consoles. BTW, you did a great job on these with some really nice planting in the town/clubhouse areas, and that Gullane #1 hole #5 green is one of the most fun putting surfaces I have ever experienced. And the lidar data is exceptional for the three Gullane courses and reminds me why I no longer play many RCRs that are not based on lidar. Thank you for letting us know about these.

Thanks very much for the information. Yes I did import the whole plot as one, which seemed a good idea at the time, and yes all the lidar trees. I wasn't having much luck getting the file size down, but you've given me some ideas to try so will give it another go. The thought of starting over is not very appealling at all I'm so glad I got this info about the file sizes now, as I can mask the data properly for my current course before I start in the designer. I've got a few more in the pipeline (well I've got them locally but want to tidy up before publishing). Glad you enjoyed the course. Was surprised how well the greens came out there were a couple it was hard to find viable pin positions but just about got there

You really should submit your courses to the TGCtours database.

Yes I will do. I did submit Gullane #1 but it didn't get approval - but to be fair I agreed entirely with the comments. I have a better version locally anyway so going to tidy it up and get the file size down and give it a go again I think. Fairly new to all this so just learning at the moment but really enjoying it.
