Quick question probably best aimed at jwtexan ; I noticed the winds for round 1 were "default" and I've played a few practice rounds on this setting and have found the wind direction is different every time. Surely this means that the wind is different for every player thus meaning we are all potentially playing a different course in rd 1? There was a recent discussion about this in the clubhouse forum that had some good info. I had also been curious about the default wind situation, but it seems like in societies everyone is getting very similar conditions.

That’s more geared at default strength, I’m talking about default direction which is more random. For example, my practice round on default meant the drivable par 4 was straight down wind yet in the tournament it was straight into, a vastly different hole but on the same setting apparently. My concern is that some of the field are playing it into the wind and others might be playing it down wind, unless your saying default still locks it in a direction for the whole society?

I assumed that default strength/direction would be handled in the same way but maybe not. Hopefully someone in the know can help us out.

I think default in tournies is set to whatever the direction the wind was upon the start of the tournament, thusly should be the same for all golfers in the tournament.

More crazy tempos in Round 2. The crowning turd in the waterpipe was leaving a 12-footer a few inches short on 18. That would have got me to -9 and at least a sporting chance of making the cut.
This time it's my mouse that's crying. Going to leave a bottle of whiskey next to him overnight and let him have at it.
See you all next week.

So for whatever reason my tempo on this course is all over the place. I can't get anything remotely consistent, so I'm taking the week off. I'm not going to get more demotion marks when I just worked hard to clear them.
Gl ALL!

-5, -4 for -9 at the cut... 4 putted from 20' on #15, and missed a 4' on #18... thought I needed -10 to make the cut- was about to lose my mind. I probably should check the cut line before playing.
I'll be regretting those thrown away shots when handing out greenies at the end of the week though.

Didn’t think I’d be able to finish this week so I played all rounds in about an hour period. -11 at the cut and -27 for the week

Finally made a cut!
R1: -7 R2: -5 R3: -5 R4: -4
Really had to work hard the last round to fight back to -4. My swing line went crazy. The top scores and players each week blow my mind. The consistency they must be playing with is crazy

As for the golf, it's a course that makes me uncomfortable. I certainly felt there were some phantom lidar artifact breaks in there, but such is life on those course. Same for everyone. -11 after 36 and played about as poorly as I could in R2. Gonna hold off playing to final two to see if it's good enough to make the weekend. My ego would be happy if I did, but my nerves could use the weekend off from that course. Well, finished up this morning by going 63-64 to get me to -28 for the week. I might just eek out a top 20 out of the deal but glad the week's over. Nothing against the designer or the course, just was never comfortable around here. You can see why the course hosted the Dell Match Play though ... it's a roller coaster ride with glory or a big number waiting around every turn.

So you’re the one who kept me from getting my third greenie and a promotion... I’ll remember that next time. Just kidding good playing I’ll just have to lace them up again next week

What a roller coaster- lip out/ d|ck punch Saturday. R3: -3 with 2 shots that hit on the green and ended up OB, throw in 4 lip outs for good measure. R4: -5 with 2 bogeys that lipped out going and coming back. Total- -17. Just about everything that could go wrong, did... hopefully the golf gods pay me back next week... in the mean time I'll be on the practice green trying to dial in those mid range putts.
(I am 4 for 6 making Cuts on Platinum via the Cow Cup)

Good enough to make the cut, but can’t do enough over the weekend to get a mark.
