Rounds 3 & 4 were mixed.
R3 started with a double bogie and finished with +1.
R4 started with a birdie and ended with -3 and my best round of the comp.
-5 overall, tempo was wild today.

Did Rounds 3 & 4 yesterday. Walked away disappointed. R3 was OK, finished Even after a string of bogeys on the back 9.
R4 was terrible. Shot +4 to finish +3 for the tournament. I should've stopped playing after my game fell off during the back 9 in R3 and saved R4 for a different day... now I've learned!
My goal was only to make the cut, and I succeeded, so I can be happy with that. Next week the goal will be to make the cut and finish under par for the tournament.
A sequence of bad rounds yesterday has me questioning my clubs. I'm using all purples (almost max distance, low forgiveness) for the most part other than my lob (59 degree) wedge. I wonder if I should swap out irons or wedges for more forgiveness. Will have to try a couple rounds and see.

I've gone for the most forgiveness I believe, Bridgestone irons and Taylor Made woods/hybrids and I still spray the ball everywhere

I might be playing a bit ordinary, but at least I'm consistent. Week 1: -4 T40th Week 2: -4 T36th

Straight out for the Cracked Open without any practice and round 1 was a mixed bag. 6 birdies and 3 bogies for a very pleasing -3. Quite a few opportunities missed for more as well. Round 2, nightmare start with a bogie, then another, and another....until I was +6 after 10 (+3). Steadied the ship with a run of pars and then found a bit of form on the final 5 holes to get 4 birdies and hopefully make the cut to finish +2 and -1 after 2 rounds. Some of the pin positions in R2 were really tricky, I missed quite a few from under 6 feet with the big sloaps. Hit the pin on 17 too but couldn't get a birdie from 7 foot

Another mixed bag to start the Cracked Open! R1 I was off to a hot start and feeling good, -2 through 3 holes. Then I got a rare "very slow" on a drive which put me in the water on the short par 4 7th and next thing I knew my game fell off a cliff as I tried to compensate for the very slow and was all over the place tempo wise. After a stretch of 5 bogeys, I luckily I got my game back on track to finish with 4 pars and a birdie on 18.
That positive momentum resulted in a great R2 (and my best round to date in a TGCT event) shooting -4. It had the potential to be even better too... I lipped out 2 birdie putts and 2 par putts. Very easily could've been a -8 so I was very happy with the round.
Through 2 sitting at -2 hoping to make the cut!

I had a poor +3 in R1 but something clicked in R2 and I recovered with a -4 to sit at -1 after two. That looks like it should make the cut.
Now if I can just hit more than 50% of fairways and greens in regulation I might get a good score.

After sitting at -2 through 2 rounds, I played my third round today. I was -4 through 11 holes before a bogey on 12 and a double bogey on 13 (with a missed tap-in putt...). Re-grouped with a birdie on 14, but then bogeyed 15. Luckily finished on 18 with a birdie, to finish -2 for R3.
That leaves me sitting at -4 through 3 rounds. My goal this week was to break par for the first time in a TGC event - happy I've set myself up well for R4.

1st round for Mr Inconsistency was +1. 35% FIR and 2 balls in the drink = a sucky round.
Good luck all.

A +1 grind in R3 that brought me back to Even followed by a XB1 random-tempo motherfecker of a round four that I speed golfed to a +6. It left me wondering why I'm doing this. It certainly isn't fun!
I have no idea where the ball is going off the tee or on approaches. FIR of 45% and GIR of 46% for the tournament. I can do better in real life on a 20+ handicap.
Maybe time to relegate myself to the Beer League.

Careful mate. I totally struggled on rd 4 thinking id smash it. Serves me right. Good luck Yeah I've probably jinxed myself now haven't I? I played a practice round with R4 pins yesterday and it also ate me alive, shooting +6. Luckily it was just a practice round, hopefully I'll get a few more in and can bring that score down for my final round of the tourney.

Just finished up R4. In my practice round before the real thing, I shot -9, so I was feeling very good (that's my best round yet on Master, but it was only practice!). Unfortunately the real one wasn't near that level, but I finished -2. I was -4 through 15, but had two bogeys down the easy finishing stretch... lost concentration and just choked really. Oh well.
Overall -6. +2, -4, -2, -2. We'll see where that ends up. Probably nowhere near good enough for a promotion mark, but I'm happy I accomplished my goal of breaking par!
Good luck to everybody else with your remaining rounds this week.
