Just seen the score of -75 posted on the European Tour....really?!? I dunno about anyone else, but for me this is getting beyond a joke. I know I ain't the best golfer out there and would never proclaim to be, but i'm beginning to think what is the point. I shot a 'modest' -54 over the 4 rounds which I thought was pretty decent, but in reality it's nearing bottom of the pile. As much as I love playing the game and appreciate everything that has been done here at TGCTOURS.... I guess i'm beginning to think what is the point of continuing

Will change from next week NCFC, I have read some threads, yes! unfortunately due to other commitments I do not get a chance to read all threads! However, I did manage a few practice rounds at next weeks course last night, shooting around -10 each time (and that was with an albatross / Double Eagle!) Based on what I'm shooting, I would expect that guys will still be hitting -15 and better each round. So not unrealistic to think final scores will be in the -60 to -70 bracket

Fair dues. We expect the winner on PGA to AVERAGE -8 for maybe a -30 winner next week and around -7/8 for cut

I hope I'm not coming across like i'm hating or whatever. When I found out about TGCTours, I thought the competitive element to it would be great and that it would be good to test myself against others rather than just my friends. Don't get me wrong, It is great and I do enjoy playing the tournaments... but just seeing some of these scores kills me man

I hope I'm not coming across like i'm hating or whatever. You kind of are though. Doesn't matter how they change it, there are always going to be people ahead of you. The course last week was extremely easy.....yet I still missed the cut, all about consistency on this tour. I have shot rounds that have put me right at the top on the euro tour leaderboard, but I can never string it together for 4 rounds.

I had a similar post under last week's tourney spoiler thread. When I signed up the different tour levels made it seem like this type of disparity would be held in check somewhat and you could play against your own skill level. But the people in the bottom 75% or so of the euro tour really seem to have no chance of ever really competing and the top 25% won't be moving on to another tour like the web.com guys are. The only suspense to my rounds anymore is whether I'll make the cut or not and that's just not what I was expecting this would turn out to be. Maybe our expectations were just off base from the start having never played in something like this before. Guess we will see if more like us stick it out or lose interest. Its a lot of time to play 4 rounds plus practice rounds for little to no competition.

Yeah I'm gonna stay in web B I got a solo 2nd last week. Had been hanging around 20th. Here's the deal. Your not good enough and I'm not good enough. Who cares if we don't make the PGA. If we were that good we would be having fun competing with the guys in PGA or Euro. I would demote yourself and have fun with people you can play with or stop playing. Either way. It's cool. It's a video game that's fun either way. The flights have straightened this out enough to where you need to be in your bracket. Now 54 under is nothing to sneeze at but I bet web A wouldn't be a walk in the park for you. Plus I bet nobody really liked Tiger Phil Ernie Vijay in the 2000's or Rory and some of these guys today. Someone's always gotta be at the bottom. Gotta ball. I would just go no aids (lol) in the Pga and euro and at least the scores would look better? I dunno

I"m taking a break myself. I was having fun trying to make the cut, but that is getting old. More power to those guys that can shoot -65, -70, and better. I'm not hating at all, it blows me away. I shot like -22 or -23 and missed the cut. That is all I got, its the best I can do. I don't belong out here. I'm a hack. lol

Why can't the Pga and Europe play on hard difficulty with no aids??
I mean hb would have to have that in the tourney setup.

Has been discussed to death. Use the search feature. To summarise - people wouldn't find it as fun. There is no way to set a "hard" difficulty

Never a bad time to take it another spin though. :-)
Scoring is silly and we are playing "pro tours" with training wheels on... Game plays much better with aids off as putting is somewhat normalized and proper pressure is put on actually hitting the ball close instead of somewhat close. Also adds to the skill aspect of the game and promotes proper positioning and thinking on the course.
But most people are not looking for a challenge... And that wont change. No big deal. I still enjoy TGCT - just could be so much better.
No aids on hard difficulty on tricky courses may be about right.
The RGT is a good option for some more realistic tournaments.

There is no way to set a "hard" difficulty Not on the PGA but I am getting somewhat frustrated hearing things like, "no control over the wind", "no way to set a hard difficulty". Anything can be coded and all types of probability and parameters, "CAN" happen but the staff is just to busy. To busy is fine but saying these things are, "not possible" is absurd.

They would be shooting around par and a little under. I'd say if you were not 14 they would understand that realism is more fun and struggling for par can be more fun then shooting a 56 every time out. Why not make everything a par 3 then. Par 2 on the par 3's. Who cares what they think is fun. That's part of being a pro? ? I would love it if I were there.

Grids off takes way longer and is more frustrating/stressful. I'm a regular on the RGT and I understand that that kind of play is not for everyone. They only play 3 rounds a week and even I find myself struggling to complete them at times.
TGCT is the biggest online tour by far for this game, and it will never switch over to no aids. That kind of golf is a niche market, may as well just deal with that reality.
